We were hiking with our 2 Jack Russells and stopped at The Cedars for coffee and pastries (and our dogs got free dog treats!). The ambiance, at both the inside and outside seating, was lovely. The menu is varied and reasonably priced. We plan to come for lunch the next time. Plenty of seating, restrooms across the hiking trail, friendly staff - perfect in every way.
The Cedars House is The Best. Their chocolate chip cookies are amazing. If you’re lucky you’llarrive right after a fresh batch just came out of the oven. And today was a special treat. Though we showed up shortly after closing (early bc of Easter,) we were offered scrumptious mini carrot cakes. It was so generous (thank you!) and delicious. It’s also an amazing place to feel ensconced in the woods and under towering trees and to hear and watch all the sweet birds singing, eating, and flying about. Will be back soon!
A quaint cafe to relax before or after a nice adventure in the Wissahickon Valley of Philadelphia. They offer a variety of beverages, baked goods, and prepackaged snacks. Good food and drinks over all!The staff is friendly. For those interested in dining outdoors, they sometimes have live music.Their entrance does requiring climbing a small set of stairs. You can also rent their space for private events. They are really easy to work with.
The manager told me their security cameras don’t work. I spoke with park authorities and they told me they did. The owner doesn’t want to take the time out of their day to potentially help me catch the person who caused 6,000 dollars worth of car damage and property that was stolen from my vehicle. Don’t waste your money here and I recommend staying away from this park as the police clearly don’t keep an eye on the parking lots where thieves constantly keep breaking into vehicles.
We are hikers and heard about this spot from some other people on the trail. It has a bit of a retro feel -- in a good way. You order and pay at the counter but they bring the food out on real dishes. Husband and I shared a pot roast sandwich that was delicious as well as a salad. Decent Parkin g nearby for those who are not on foot or bike. But it is right on a hiking trail and easy to find.
Militant staff member was very rude about just walking in to inquire if they had a extra mask, for a potential customer, myselfSaying I shouldn’t walk in without a mask, so then how was I supposed to inquire?Philadelphia still having a mask mandate when science clearly shows it is ineffective, masks work at only 15-20 percent protection, and I am vaccinated.I guess this cafe and Philadelphia don’t want businesses to thriveOh well,, won’t be going back
Such a beautiful, pleasant, woodsy cafe set in Wissahickon Forest. The food and coffee are great to eat in or take for a stroll. Thanks for a lovely experience!
It is always nice to stop here after a run/bike in the park. I love the smoothies here! (Too bad they don't make them in the fall/winter)
Unique little eatery. Menu is hit or miss. Employees are pleasant as pie. Had the breakfast sandwich on bagel.
The staff was extremely rude, told me to “get out” because I didn’t have a mask. Just wanted a quick smoothie.
