It was a date night and my wife Lani and I were thrilled because finally we got a chance to visit Tavern on the hill in Chestnuthill Pa after recently seeing it spot lighted on taste with Tori on CBS channel 3 local television and from the moment we walked in we were greeted by our new friend Jeff who welcomed us and seated us and made sure we had an exceptional experience. We give Tavern on the hill 5 star's for it's ambience great food I mean the french onion soup alone is a stand out must try as well as the apple dumpling which I chose for desert along with the amazing service we had a wonderful time and we look forward to our next visit.
Nice and dark, cozy, fireplace, candle and attractive lighting. The food was good, but the ambiance with ceiling fans and a new air filtration system for covid were an great addition. Very friendly and kind service.
The worst tavern i've ever been to. Four beers available on the menu. Cold food. Cold restaurant. servers were lovely. Worst food i've had in philadelphia.
I was asked to do a review on this staple in Chestnut Hill. I was asked for my vaccination card. This is the protocol now, and was fine with the approach. I spoke with Jeff who was the the Manager. The food was wonderful, and the waitress Melissa was very professional and personable and knowledgeable!! The ambiance was very inviting!! They also have live music Chris was wonderful, and friendly and professional as well !! Thank you for a great experience!!

Friendly staff, lovely waitress. Unfortunately the chef is not very good. It seems like a welcoming bar for older people, but I would suggest that you avoid the food.
