My first & last time eating from this place! Wish I read the reviews first! When I spoke about it on FB, everyone laughed and told me that I should've asked them first! Apparently, they're known for horrible customer service and food! I ordered green beans, grilled shrimp and mac & cheese! The mac & cheese was dry as heck, with barely no cheese at all and a bitter taste! The shrimp were tasteless! Just butter and pepper! Not to mention they were not deveined! That is totally disgusting! I've never been to a restaurant where the shrimp, especially the bigger ones were not cleaned! I started cleaning them as I ate, then gave up after #3, saved it and gave the platter to a homeless person on the way home. The green beans were cooked well, it just had a lot of pepper! Oh yeah, I was told that I couldn't order anything fried!!! It's a soul food restaurant!!!!! Smh! Don't do it to yourself!
First time ordering, this place reminds me of the movie Friday..."you have ham no burger, you have Kool aid no sugar!" Everything we asked for they didn't have. Was told no fried foods, only baked or grilled, no greens, no potato salad, no cakes. We placed 9 orders. Missing a platter, shrimps were undercooked, not cleaned or deveined. All the food was overwhelmed with black pepper, had everyone coughing. The Mac and Cheese was spoiled, but wait for it! When we called to make the complaints, we were told by the owner that she was the one who packed all the platters, and that she made the Mac and Cheese this morning, so it cannot be spoiled. Nothing but excuses, completely unapologetic. No worries, we'll NEVER order from them again. Bye Smokey, Craig, Mrs. Parker and Deebo!
Food is good but the customer service is sooooo horrible. Good food being served with an attitude make the food taste just a lil off lol customer service goes a long way if you don’t want to be there just don’t you alive smile a lil ??
You know how it is, food on your mind and even though you're hungry nothing will do like soul food. So Tasties it is and oh how good it is... As if I didn't have enough, I had some of my hubbies potato salad too.
I found this place on TikTok .. i was visiting Philly and was kind of hesitant to come here because of all of the bad reviews but we came anyways and I’m so happy we did! it was nothing like the reviews! Service was 10/10 . My food was so good and came out fast. This place is such a vibe good food, good drinks, good music, and great atmosphere! The Buffalo shrimp is a MUST HAVE!!
If I could give 0 stars I would. I order at 6:40 pm and my order gets canceled at 7:48pm. That’s childish and unprofessional. If there was a problem someone should have gave a call. Definitely never offering from here again. A waste of money and a waste of time.
The food was delivered pretty quickly and the servings were very generous. The person who took the order over the phone and the driver were both great, and the food was good. We loved the mac and cheese; the shrimp Alfredo was nicely flavored; the Buffalo wings and chicken breast were cooked just right; and the other sides, yams and broccoli also tased great.
This business is managed poorly. Both locations lack professionalism. I have placed orders and it’s always gamble if it’s made. However today I placed an order on door dash and paid via the app. After I waited an hour and the dasher said when they arrived, the Resturant doesn’t do door dash. When I called they said they haven’t done it in 2 years. I asked if they can take it down and the gentleman said “that’s DoorDash problem” I was left waiting 3 days for a refund. The logos of doordash Grubhub & Ubereats are listed on your website - GOTTA DO BETTER!
So this is my second order and I must say the food is delicious. The first time I got the salmon dish and it was truly good. This time I got the chicken and shrimp Alfredo. I know other have mentioned poor experiences but that simply wasn’t the case either time for me. Perhaps this restaurant has made a turn around. Either way give these guys a chance. The food is always tasty.
