Didn't get to try what I wanted because they ran out but the chicken cheese steak I got was really good. Bakery was closed too. Hope to come back and try everything I want.
This is one of the best places you can get food. The staff is very welcoming.
UPDATE: Had to come back and update. Despite the customer service issue, the food was most definitely good so I’ll chalk this one up to hopefully an isolated issue. Also, the owner’s prompt response was also a plus. Looking forward to supporting again and getting better customer service from staff next time around.Haven’t even gotten my food yet and already turned off by the customer service. Ordering through Ubereats. After having to cancel my first order because of out of stock items, I try to place a different order in an effort to still support. After getting the same out of stock message, I call to see what’s in stock instead of cancelling a second order. The guy who answered starts telling me stuff that’s not even on the Ubereats app but I’m still listening. Then, he hits me with “well order what you want but I can’t tell you the whole menu on the phone” after I explained that I was calling to see what I could order since I keep getting the out of stock message. Who talks to people like they’re being inconvenienced when the restaurant is the one with a bunch of stuff out of stock? So I say again “I’m only asking because of the message I got”. Then he says “it’s some things are out of stock and it’s an off day but we do have stuff”. As if that wasn’t the point of my call. I’m really praying this food is worth it.
MashAllah! This is the best soul food I ever had! The facts that it’s halal makes it better! We enjoyed their bbq chicken platter and the surf and turf burger is a HIT. Mouth watering food presented by the wonderful staff is always a plus! I look forward to eating here again! If your craving A1 soul put this in your GPS right now.
Called for a double burger, was told they don't make them. I guess they want 12.50 for each and every patty. Called for a cheese steak, got told "mm, mm, naw." Called for jerk tilapia, was offered salmon only. First time I called, I wasn't even informed that the sides were OPTIONAL and part of a platter which costs more. The lady had a whole attitude until I told her it was my first time. The platter was bomb and the food tasted SO clean but never again.
Best food in this area so far.I personally like less sweet sauce on the food. But that’s me.Overall the food was great. Tried 4 different dishes.Philly cheese stake, Mac & cheese and banana pudding were on point. Definitely recommend it.

Wanted to try this place. Walked to them and walked back to cover the calories. Had a cheesesteak. It was a bit too finely chopped for me. Food was good and the family were happy with their food. They are a black Muslim run place so soul food is on the menu. As they had recently opened the menu was restricted. Seating was restricted with temporary tables when We went. Staff were lovely and I would have liked to try some more of their menu if we had the time. Well worth a visit.

*This is for the restaurant on woodland ave next to dollar general*My first time there, I ordered fried whiting, green beans and seafood salad. The fish had no taste, like they just fried it with no seasoning. I also ordered a seafood salad. It only came with 1 shrimp in it.The second time I ordered from there, I got the surf and turf burger, which was supposed to come with waffle fries (it came with the crinkly fries), and a seafood salad. The burger was great but they gave me potato salad instead of seafood salad. I walked in and said my order, so there is no way it was a mistake.First time, okay, I let it slide. I wanna support black business. The second time, I had to write a review because it shouldn’t have happened.I’ll return and just be checking before I leave the store next time. Even though I shouldn’t have to.
