Delicious cheesesteak. Fast, friendly, reasonably priced, cool bathroom!

My family came to visit me this week. They wanted a Philly Cheesesteak, and Sonny's is just around the corner. So I took them to Sonny's. The food is fine, but the staff were rude. As I was leaving, my wife was holding the door open for my sister. My sister has Down Syndrome and is in a wheelchair. My wife was holding the door open for my sister to wheel through the doorway. The staff started yelling, "Close the door! It's hot outside!" My sister is still trying to wheel herself through the doorway. The staff continue to yell, "Close the door!" Then a female member of staff gets on the microphone and yells "Close the door!" To be clear, the staff shouted at a girl with Down Syndrome in a wheelchair for not exiting the building fast enough.

go for classic cheese steak and amazing staff were great and I told them I will make sure my friends know about the place! definitely will be back when I am back in Philadelphia!

As I was planning my Philadelphia trip, some of my friends told me to avoid Geno's and Pat's so I Googled a bunch of lists of the best cheesesteaks in the city. Sonny's was on every list so it was the first place I tried. I got the loaded cheesesteak with provolone, onions, mushrooms, but asked them to replace the regular peppers with hot ones. The hot peppers did tend to dominate the flavor the sandwich, but overall I was very satisfied.

My wife and I tried Pilly Cheeze Steak Sandwiches when we arrived in Philadelphia for the first time. BUT then we found Sonny's it was amazing. Please don't forget Sonny's when in Pilly. Steve and Cindy USA

A few locals suggested Sonny's as one of the best cheesesteak places on that area. They weren't wrong. The sandwich with provolone was delicious. French fries were plentiful. Service was fast and friendly. Was a petty busy place! With good reason!

Been here twice. Ordered fries and the container was half filled And weren’t fully cooked. The second time they were completely soggy. When you order a cheesesteak and not a steak sandwich, cheese is supposed to be included with charge but instead it’s an extra charge when you order a cheesesteak which doesn’t make sense.

Pat and Geno’s get all the hype but Sonny’s was convenient and delicious. We got there just as they were filling a huge order and politely asked if we would mind waiting. It really gave us an opportunity to watch the behind scene activity . Looks like a family run business and they do it well. Our Cheese Steaks were hot and seasoned well and the bread was crusty and chewy !! Trip advisor says take out only but we were there on May 24 and could sit inside to eat. Great place not too far from Liberty Bell.

We wanted to get a cheesesteak so we stopped at Sonny’s. I had the loaded steak it was amazing. I got the peppers, onions, mushrooms, with choice of cheese. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. One sandwich was wrong but they corrected the order.

Came across this place on a walk around town having arrived in Philly a few hours earlier and wanted dinner. Plain, simple set up. Order at the counter from the overhead menu and then they call out when it's ready. Basic table and chairs to eat your freshly prepared hot sandwich at. Simple tasty food, in a simple setting for a good price.
