Small World is the best!
So happy to get fresh fish from Small World Seafood, , always a taste treat and am trying many new types of fish.
Great way to buy fish and other special selection items.
Friday was my first experience buying fish from this company. We went with something familiar, that being whitefish salad, and it did not disappoint. The large chunks of whitefish were delicious for breakfast on seeded sourdough bread from my friends at Metuka, a pop up shop at Cohen’s Hardware on Fridays.The real star of the order, however, was Spanish Mackerel, a fish my partner and I were completely unfamiliar with. My wonderful partner researched the fish and how to cook it, and it was so delicious.The fish was already filleted and deboned. There was enough for two meals in our portion. Seriously, there was not 1 bone left to pick out with our needle nose grabber. Is it silly to say the fish was gorgeous? But it was!Bob, my trusted cook made this pan seared fish, skin side down in our cast iron skillet, about 4 minutes with skin down, flipped and then about another 90 seconds or so skin up. He then placed it on a platter covered in homemade red curry, and covered the fish with same. He served it with brown jasmine rice. Wow, it was great.

Had skate wing for dinner last night following a recipe on the small world seafood site, recommended by Robert when I picked my fish up, it came out perfect! Very happy to be trying new fish, thank you for giving us the opportunity to do this.

I ordered the scallops from New England this week. They were delicious! Just a simple pan sear in olive oil and butter, a squeeze of lemon then chopped parsley made them sing. Will definitely order again.
