I am not vegan, but I got their vegan patter for my mom. I ended up eating most of it because it was so good. Everything we ordered from this place was packed with flavor and it is honestly some of the best food I have had in Philly. Ordering from them again tonight

Today was my first time having Ethiopian food and it was delicious. Try the chicken kabob platter with injera- you won’t be disappointed! Our hostesses were gracious and kind, which is really the best part of any dining experience for me.

Hospitable staff members, delicious dishes, wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone whom are courageous to try different cultural cuisine. This is a great place to experience Ethiopian cuisine. The food is full of flavor. Simply awesome.??

A true Gem in Germantown! The market place with spices & other goods from Ethiopia is just another add on to this establishment serving amazing food

Was there for lunch with friends. I had the salmon platter with greens, rice and mushrooms. A little spicy but delicious!! And the staff was wonderful too, very attentive.

Great food and courteous servers.

I happened to find this place while looking for a meal on Google Maps. I am so happy that I did. The food was very tasty and the portions were generous. The lamb and the salmon were very tender and full of flavor. Also the injera was especially delicious. I can't wait to return to try more.Last but not least, the staff was very kind and friendly. As one reviewer said previously, "you can tell this food was made with love." I can agree with that. The staff there had great personalities and were full of genuine smiles. That makes any dining experience even more pleasant. If you are ever in this area, please give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

My family surprised me with a birthday dinner to Salam Cafe for the first time. At first I was very apprehensive since I have never tried this type of cuisine before. But from the moment I walked in, the owner welcomed us with a bright smile and made us feel like we were dining in her own home! The rest of the staff was very kind and appreciative. The food was clearly made fresh and with love. We started off with the Babaganoush, then lentil & chicken sambosas. For entrees, we got the salmon entree with rice, vegan platter, & falafel platter. We couldn’t pass up dessert so we decided on getting baklava. The owner’s Ethiopian coffee ceremony is what made our visit even more memorable. Dining in this cafe made it feel like weren’t in Philadephia anymore. Our experience of Salam Cafe was truly authentic, memorable, & one that will have us coming back again. Thank you!!

The food was very tasty, nicely presented and reasonably priced. Nice chill atmosphere too. I strongly recommend it.The only thing I did not care for was the rice pudding

Hidden gem! Best Ethiopian food with amazing staff and service
