I ONLY leave reviews if I have a great experience and lemme tell you. The only reason I didn’t keep walking past the bar was because I saw Jessica. Gorgeous trendy woman who made my first experience amazing. And she saved my life. Literally. Anyways. Place is beautifully decorated. Great vibe. Good drinks. Great crew. 6 stars! (And hummus is so good)

I can’t give this place a real review because we didn’t stay to try it. My husband and I walked in and went to approach the bar to take a seat. A host or server (not sure if her position) suddenly and aggressively jumped in front of my face, startled me, and told me we couldn’t sit at the bar. She pointed to a table beside the bar and said, you can sit there. It was really off-putting. We just walked out. We wanted to sit at the bar. The decor looks pretty though. I had been wanting to try R&D, so this experience was disappointing.

It's such a cute cocktail bar. The drinks are really good, but the service can be a little on the slower side. I love the fact that they require vaccines verification for the time being.
The hostess was not flexible at all. We had 10 people trying to get espresso martinis at 7:30pm on a Friday. Not too crowded. We offered to stand outside in an area that included a menu. She said ok and that it’s a limited menu and espresso martinis were not on the menu…. She could have been a little flexible but was snippy so we left
Awesome drinks! Well worth the price, which is affordable and expected for an artisan cocktail. Our large group each tried different cocktails for the most part. Each were elegant, boozy, and deliciousExcellent service, very accommodating for a large group. Went above and beyond in service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and quick. Will stop back again.

As a New Yorker living in Philly now, I was elated to discover R&D Cocktail Bar in all its upscale energy. Their atmosphere, badass cocktails, and service will have you transported right to SoHo for the evening :) Would be a cool spot for friends or a hot spot for a date.
The tiki menu was fascinating. I ordered Wee Purp and loved it. I would like to see more snack options on the menu though; or maybe something more sharable than hummus even though it was a very tasty hummus?
