The first time I ate from this place....I thought the food was amazing! I no longer live in the area but every now and then I still went and bought a platter. To day I bought one.... And the food was disgusting! Overall it tasted like the food was bad or reheated! Bad flavors. Clearly they have changed cooks! Good luck! I will never go back there again!
Wonderful food, great flavors and good customer service. I was in a serious mood for oxtails, hubby wanted curry chicken. Most Jamaican restaurants near us either closes early or run out of certain items way too soon. Quality Jamaican restaurant is a wonderful place to grab some tasty food. My one and only complaint is the portion sizes. If I’d had to guess there was 75% rice, 15% meat, and 10% veggies. At a glance it looks like a lot of meat but it’s not. The meat and veggies are on a mountain of rice. I was disappointed because my plate of oxtails cost $20, I expected more meat for the price.
This place is so good. Traditional Jamaican / island flavors and dishes of a variety of curries and jerk. Used to live in the islands and miss this kind of food. All platters come with 2 sides. The rice and peas and steamed cabbage are sooo good you’ll be speechless the first few bites. The Mac n cheese is legit good. You can only get that as a separate side but it’s worth it. If you go there for the first time there are two locations right next to each other. The left side has mostly seafood dishes, but the lines are always at the place on the right hand side, if you want the jerk or curry or the good sides, go to that door. When you get to the counter, know what you want in advance or the people behind you will understandably be upset. They take card or cash and the people behind the counter are really nice and helpful. Tip: ask for the curry sauce for your rice or to dip your chicken in, its free, comes on the side, it’s spicy but very good! Enjoy!
Chances are when you go there's gonna be a line, but that's minor because it moves quick and it's definitely worth the wait. Been coming here for years and haven't been disappointed yet. Food always good and the serving size is a lot. You can either order your food to go, or go next door and dine in.
It's a cute little place on the corner of 40th & Lancaster. You can get your food to go or you can choose to sit in this small establishment. It's very quaint. There's only two tables and a bar by the window. Very cute. Don't get me wrong don't let small fool you this place had a constant parade of customers the entire 2 hours I was there. Check it out the smell alone will bring you back.
Oh Good God Almighty! I was waiting when the doors open, first for breakfast. Boil dumplings, white yam WITH curry chicken, Bless the name of Jesus??. It is so awesome, I felt for some good old Jamaican breakfast, drove miles to get it and everything about this meal ? AWESOME. Thank you Sir. ??????? The Jerk Patty????.
Absolutely the best Jamaican food i have had in a long time. Great customer service! They are such very nice and hard working people. Much love and respect due to them. My only complaint is that the macaroni was not cheesy enough other than that i would have given 5 stars
The jerk salmon was fishy and dry. The cabbage was good. The side of Mac/cheese was to be desired..not!
The prices for food here are way too high, compared to other places I know of and sometimes the goat meat be too salty too. I liked you all better when your prices were lower not too long ago. For eg: the same small goat you all sell for $15, for so called two sides, another place I know of closer to me sells it for $8.99 and with them the rice comes with the meat and you have a choice of two sides with all platters except the house special and the food is good too. They have an everyday special of a small jerk chicken or curry chicken with rice and a side for only $5.99. Now that's a deal right there.
Food was pretty good. The staff were nice.
