Our dinner at Pumpkin was spectacular! Each course was better than the last and the atmosphere was lovely. The portion sizes were also reasonable, and while we left full we weren't stuffed. If you're looking for a delicious dinner in a charming restaurant, this is the place.
That chocolate dessert was unreal. Also amazingly tender tuna.
We have been loyal customers for years. Weâre not sure what happened last night but the food was very mediocre. The entrees and the desserts were the problem. I ordered the vegetarian eggplant dish. It was cold slices of eggplant with an excessively smoky flavor over what looked like babba Ganesh dip. Over the top was some type of plain lettuce. It looked as unappetizing as it tasted and was a very small portion to boot. My husbandâs shrimp looked so bare . It was these boiled shrimp swimming in a watery sauce over some cornâ no color and little flavor. The desserts were disappointing as well. My peach cobbler tasted like the crusty part was old stale bread rather than pastry or crumbles. I left most of it over. I hope they can get the cooking and presentation back together. We wonât return for a very long while.
As always, the experience at Pumpkin was nothing less than spectacular. We have had so many disappointing service experiences at restaurants recently itâs good to know that someplace has been able to maintain its very high standards, despite the difficulty of hiring and keeping good employees these days.

The kitchen greeted us and the service was wonderful. One of my favorite places in the city. We had the prefix menu and it wasnât overwhelming portions. I had put table for the night.
