I think the quality of the food and service has gone down substantially. Also their inability/unwillingness to answer the phone is consistent and infuriating. Typically have to call multiple times before someone answers and their VM is always full.
As a loyal customer for a long time, this used to be my favorite bagel place for a great breakfast sandwich. But at my recent visit I was extremely disappointing with the quality of the sandwich, I order my usual bacon, egg and cheese on the everything bagel. They seem to be cutting corners by selling you precooked bacon and the eggs taste like they came from a carton yuck, shame on you for charging close to $10 for a mediocre bagel sandwich..
Great neighbor place, it's been around for decades. We are lucky to have them so close.
My go-to bagel spot for 20 years (on and off).I'll never forget the first time having one of their bagels. It was love at first bite. It was their french toast bagel with a sweet cream cheese (can't remember exactly). My absolute favorite is their everything bagel. I was so excited when they opened up on Passyunk, closer to my neighborhood. I only went once. Only because I started working in Society Hill. Almost 3 years now and it took my coworker to remind me of how close the original SSB is to my place of employment. Been there several times in the last few weeks. I know.. I know. How could I be a TRUE SS bagel lover and not realize?? Consistently delicious. The staff- super sweet and gracious- even when handling the most difficult of customers. Not me, but I did witness a customer just about have a hissy fit, in an easy to fix situation. The customer was out of line but the staff killed the customer with kindness and handled it graciously. Much better than I would've.
Great place but please go back to old bacon this new one is terrible !!!!!
One of the best bagel places in Philly! I decided to walk to this place(25 min walk), and it was all worth it! Very good variety of bagels and spreads, quick service, and a wonderful taste!I was recommended this place by one of the local coffee shops batista, who said that they used to order bagels from there. 100% recommend!
Highly recommend this to anyone in the area, it’s my go to bagel spot. They do a great job every time!
the BEST customer service! I just got home to see my surprise HOT FRESH everything bagel tucked in the bag under the one I ordered.
The last three times I went in they ran out of everything bagels. Make more bagels maybe?
Moved to the west coast and we miss these bagels so much! And the whitefish salad!
