I really only visit one area for my African dishes and that's SWP. My sister preferred this location and I really was not up fir the drive so I complied. She phoned in the order. The guy had a very bad customer service when we ordered our food. She stated chicken in my Egusi when I told her 'Egusi is a stew made with 3 different meats. Chicken, beef and turkey.....mostly smoked turkey.' He argues that he had a choice of meat, goat, beef or chicken. And reiterated She wanted chicken.....had to argue to correct it to beef. So it says the Egusi is 15$. So once i paid, he held my 20$ bill. I asked gow muchbwas my food, he stated it was a extra 5$ for meat. Reminding you meat comes with this dish....its not seperated at all. So yes im irritated but i comply because I had my food. I asked was it spicy, he stated it was mild spicy not hot spicy. So I dropped off my sister and headed home. I wish I would of changed my mind at the store!!! My fufu was stiff!! I had 3 unseasoned tough pieces of beef In my Egusi.....no spice.....all white without spinach and the grease gave me a old dirty taste in the back of my mouth. I informed the guy in the store I would call if it was bad but at this point, I rather put this here so that he could understand the respect that's needed from a business owner. Representation says it all!!! I wish I could of taken a picture but I threw it in the trash!!!
I purchased potato greens and fried chicken. Potato greens were ok im use to Liberian style which i believe is why it taste so different. Also my fried chicken wasnt fried chicken more like baked and a few pieces weren't done pink meat down to the bone. It was drenched in a red sauce which i asked for on the side. I didnt have a good experience at all! However i wont do it again spent $51 and didn't get my African fill up
Honestly please take Nigerian restaurant out of your name. There’s nothing Nigerian about the food coming from this place. Sadly this seems to be the only Nigerian restaurant in Philly, such a poor representation
Never fails the food is always AMAZING..ME AND MY DAUGHTER LOVE THE FUFU AND EGISE SOUP..MMMMMMMmmmmm delicious...the gentlemen that cooks is outstanding...
I came here with my Nigerian family to Celebrate my Mom's Birthday. I ate Poundo Yam, which was very soft, with Egusi Soup. I loved it. I never eat Swallow, I might start ordering some henceforth...Nice place and Efficient.
Nice and decent place place to get food.
I ordered egusi soup with fish, this is the first time in the 20+ years of me eating Nigerian food I was so disappointed. The fish was not in the soup but on the side. The soup actually tasted spoiled. The cut up fish is supposed to be pepper soup with fish. Where is the broth? What a waste of my time I waited for 40 minutes and waste of my money. I threw the food in the trash. DO NOT TASTE LIKE AUTHENTIC NIGERIAN FOOD.
For $30 I got 1/2 containers of food with 4 small pieces of meat and old sticky clumps of rice! I will never return to this restaurant EVER again!! The goat was so tough even a dog couldn’t chew it!! Don’t waste your time or money going there. When I called the restaurant the man said I paid that price for the RAW fufu lol no sir I order the Okra that came with fufu! So where is the rest of my food??? Will be getting my money back ASAP!!
Ordered thru grubhub I ordered spinach with turkey and since they didn't have the turkey they decided to add what they called stewd chicken which was fried with hot sauce all over it or whatever they say it was!! Whoever answered the phone said he had no time to text or call me to say they didn't have what I wanted!!!! Well you should have canceled my order!!!! Spinach was nasty and so was chicken!!! I will never order from here again!!! Horrible!!!!!
The food was awful I ordered 3 platers of beef and rice which only came with 3 small pieces of beef on each platter and they had the nerve to charge $60 the beef wasn’t tender at all I couldn’t even chew the food I don’t recommend anyone eating from this place if I could give 0 stars I would
