What a hidden gem! My husband and I had a several hour layover in Philly and we always look for the "hole-in-wall" local spots. We were lucky to happen upon this place. This ended up being a better time than where we were traveling to. Felicia, the bartender, makes sarcasm and wit seem like a sport. They don't serve food so she recommended a great local place 1 block down for the BEST cheesesteaks to carry back. We ate at the bar, did shots to celebrate a couple's engagement, bought t-shirts, laughed, shared pictures, and felt like locals. We're going back and renting the AirBnB upstairs just to do it again soon.
Great ambiance and a fun stop! Unfortunately I did not have time to have a drink, but I had to stop by to get a t-shirt. Huge fan of the show, and even though this is not the "real" paddys, it worked for me. A little surprised they allowed smoking inside. I mean, it is 2022... they can go outside to smoke instead of hotboxing a small bar. Maybe it's allowed for the paddys trashy ambiance, who knows
If you give this place anything less than 5 stars you’re a loser. It’s a dope hole in the wall, period. It’s a smoking bar with low prices and great conversation with all kinds of folks. Lots of other nice locals. I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 4 years and I’ve met a few really close lifelong friends here. Yes there are other fancier places with food nearby. But their staff end up here once they close. Paddy’s is the setting for many of my fondest and stupidest memories, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
My Wife and i spent one night in Philadelphia and the space was above the Pub. OMG the people in the pub are amazing! The locals and the bartenders are awesome and make you feel like a local. We had so much fun we almost missed dinner. If your near you must stop in for a drink, a laugh and nice t-shirts. We will definitely be back! Ted and Miki from Mansfield Ohio
Definitely a good old-fashioned pub. Came here for the "Always Sunny" inspiration, and stayed for the good drinks.
Do you love its always sunny in Philadelphia? Of course you do. This is the bar that started the show. Come chug some brews and SMOKE! Thats right sugar buns you can still smoke in this bar.
Small, quiet, cold beer, and the bar tender was nice. Perfect if you like a small hole in the wall for a quick beer.
When in Philly, you simply need to go to Paddy's Old City Pub. Great prices. Amazing staff. Great selection. Fantastic Guinness. Absolutely incredible pub in every way possible. Highly recommend.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia! This is the bar it's based on, but the actual bar is just a set in LA so set your expectations. Good luck with parking. There's a public lot about 5 blocks south and street parking that you'd probably have to throw a punch to get. Godspeed!
Absolutely amazing service!! We had so much fun and Christopher is literally the best bartender we have had since we’ve been in Philly! If you’re in town you have to stop by!!
