The Seafood Tower was delicious. I still can’t figure out what they did to the scallops but I could eat them every day!
Delicious food and martinis! The oysters tasted hyper fresh. Service was fantastic. Thanks for a great night out.
The food was good but the experience was not. Server was argumentative and unaccommodating. We tried to ignore her but she was insistent on being annoying. I guess when the labor market improves they can root out her type and people can have a better time.?
We visited here with my old college roommate and his wife at their suggestion. Were were in Philly for a wedding. Oysters are the thing to get here and they ordered a variety of raw ones. They ranged from normal size to microscopic and said even the little ones tasted good. OK. I didn't indulge because I lost a battle with a one a few years ago and vowed off raw oysters from then on. I did order the Oysters Rockefeller to start, however. From the somewhat limited menu, I went with a mixed seafood grill which was fine, but nothing to write home about. My wife ordered the crab cake and I tasted it. Also good, but we much prefer the ones from Maryland chefs at Brine in Sarasota where we live. It was nice to see people out because there was an indoor mask mandate in the city as recently as 6 weeks before. But it was super loud inside. The waiters still wear masks so it was difficult to hear. Honestly, I'm surprised this is a such an honored institution and ranked so high among Philly restaurants. But I didn't tell my friend that.
Delicious food and incredible wait staff! We didn’t have a reservation and they fit us right in!
My bestie and I came here to celebrate his birthday and got the raw bar tower which was fresh and delicious! The scallop crudo was excellent and my personal favorite. I love the oyster shooters offered for happy hour. Service is decent.I took the lobster shells home and made a delicious stock with them and recommend others do the same! There's too much flavor in them to go to waste. I hope Oyster House looks into the oyster shell recycling program the city's water department is rolling out with the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary.
My husband loves oysters so we came here for their happy hour. They've got $2 oysters, $7 rum punch and $4 beers. There are also some shrimp sliders on the menu, but we didn't get them. We loved the food!
Simply put, the best oysters I have ever eaten. I’ve had Wellfleet, Naked Cowboy, and Mystics before, but never this fresh and expertly shucked. Bright, clean, and accompanied by only the essentials (lemon, cocktail, mignonette), this was an unforgettable meal. The New England chowder, arugula salad, and lemon meringue tart were outstanding as well. Even the conversation about Chicago bike infrastructure with my cycling enthusiast server was a pleasure. This is now my spot for future visits to Philly.
A Philly friend joined us for dinner here on a recent trip. He highly recommended it and he was 100% right to do so. The place was bustling but our server was always on top on things, the food was really great (try the oysters and the fish stew), and the crowd was lively—there was just an overall party-like atmosphere (but in a good way). We would return to Oyster House in a heartbeat.
Some of the best oysters I’ve ever eaten! I had to place a 2nd order they were that good! Their food was delicious and service was great. However, their oysters stole the show. Will definitely make another trip into the city just for those amazingly fresh oysters!
