Wow! The hospitality this place offers is top notch. From the level of service to the quality of food, extraordinary. My party enjoyed a plethora of menu items and cocktails and nothing was on par with “average” but verging on perfection. Our server’s attention to detail showed his experience and care in his craft. The bar amplified cocktail excellence and consistency and the food….blown away. The decor was beautiful, high end, yet casual. This restaurant boasts their staff’s talents and created a dining experience that is hard to find these days. Do not pass this place up. 10/10
Our family gathered to celebrate a special graduation and reserved the private room called the "Kitchen Table". The room is so perfect for a cozy and quieter home-like feel and the shape of the beautiful butcher block table for 14 was the perfect size for us. We could hear everyone's stories and all felt connected. Throughout the evening and afterwards, each of our family members expressed how much they loved the delicious and very copious food, as well as the cozy Kitchen Table setting! The large family style serving bowls for each course were well placed for everyone to reach and have plenty. Each dish was spectacular (I'm craving some right now as I remember). Matt gave us great attention and excellent service that evening. Events managers Tricia and Fiona did a super job of communicating with me as we planned this two months ahead. They kept everything organized throughout the process, and were patient with my questions since we live in North Carolina and were going by faith that this would be a good experience. When asked, they recommended Robertson's florist and they delivered two lovely arrangements. Osteria provided votives and the whole room glowed with warmth. Osteria truly is a magnificent restaurant and the "Kitchen Table" was just perfect for us to celebrate our son's graduation. We'll be back!
Their menu has changed abit, they no longer offer the grilled octopus. That was disappointing, because I was so excited to try it. However the food I ended up ordering was delicious. The vibe was great and the waitress was very accommodating.
Fantastic food all around but we would have hoped the server had let us known the helpings are quite generous and everything is shareable. 3 dishes per person is a LOT of food, and asking us to order it all up front left us with a bad taste in our mouths. That said, best Pizza I've ever had in Philly!
Osteria has always been one of my favorite spots in philly. The ambiance and food is always on point, they switch up their menu seasonally which i find is great for trying new things when I come to revisit. My friend and I had Ireland as our server and she was well spoken and knowledgable about the menu. She was also very attentive to our table, and we are pleased by the dishes she recommended. 10/10!
Happy Hour ... good way to test the kitchen, yes? Well, the white wine was very good and inexpensive. Other than that...the charred octopus was good, the broccolini Caesar was OK, the beef tartare was too salty (and we SHOULD have sent it back), the cacio e pepe was sooooo salty we DID send it back. And why would they put salt in cacio e pepe anyway? Then, the bill came...$17 each for - really - HALF-martinis.
We finally made it to Osteria and it definitely did not disappoint. The broccolini Caesar salad tasted amazing. It was a bit fibrous and chewy at times but I’d get it again. Loved the octopus…super tender. The spaghetti alla chitarra and branzino hit the mark as well. Nice cocktail and wine list. Can’t wait to go back.
Amazing foods:• Beef tartare ????, personally prefer less sour. But it’s almost perfect(compared to what I had in Paris);• Grill octopus salad ???, some parts it was over grilled so I tasted the bitterness of burnt.• Veal lasagna?????: highly recommended, perfect portion perfect taste.• Seafood spaghetti????? is wonderful, recommended if you don’t eat beef. Began with nice cocktail, ended with satisfying cheesecake. Btw, the fresh bread was a bonus point! I was wondering if I can order some and take it home.Nice customer service, romantic atmosphere and the cute glass house! It’s very worthy. I will come back.
We were 6 women and everyone enjoyed themselves. Four of us shared one main course and 4 appetizers that the waiter Daniel C. picked out for us. We had grilled cauliflower, broccolini caesar ( I would of liked it warm but it was a salad), rigatoni, baked ricotta, Branzino. It was so much fun trying all the flavors and everything was delicious. Plenty of food. All 5 dishes cost 98.00 split between 4 it was a good value plus they serve amazing bread that is included. The only thing I do not like is that they don’t answer the phone and do not call you back. Go anyway, you will enjoy!Sorry I do not have good pictures.
We made a reservation here for restaurant week. On their website there is a enclosed patio area pictured so we reserved what we thought was that space…when we arrived we found out that they actually sit people outside, in Philly, in January. It was freezing at about 20 degrees and we had 2 heaters between the 4 of us. The food was not great and very expensive. We ordered the octopus, steak, pasta and baked ricotta. The baked ricotta and the octopus were okay but the other food came in extremely small portions and lacked flavor. It was also all cold because it was served outside in 20 degree weather. I felt like my toes were freezing off. I’m just trying to figure out who in their right mind would put people outside for a reservation in 20 degrees. The one great thing on the menu was the Lazzi cocktail…and we only got one round because they ran out. They did comp the meal because of the horrible experience we had but I don’t even think that gesture could bring me back there. The hostess was extremely rude.
