I can't give enough compliments to Nan Zhou Hand Drawn Noodles. Let me start by saying they're my favorite restaurant in Chinatown/Philadelphia. They're so welcoming and friendly and they'll talk to you if you were the dearest of friends. My family has different dietary needs and they're able to accommodate each one of us, by having different dishes and a variety of dumplings such as: vegetables, curry coconut chicken, chicken and mushrooms, satay beef. My personal favorite is the lamb soup, oh my goodness, it has the delicious umami flavor, every sip you feel hugged from the inside out. Their beef brisket served with white rice and greens is amazing as well. Overall all their dishes are fantastic and the value of the food is awesome. The only downside, it is a cash only restaurant. Keep up the outstanding work and thank you for always giving us the best dinning experience.
Incredible location for those looking for a fulfilling bowl of noodles in Chinatown. Blown away by their pan-fried dumplings! Make sure to get some if you visit. Stir-fry noodles were quite good too. Surprisingly cheap and delicious!
Dim Sum and traditional Chinese fare is a favorite. But, what these folks do with chili oil and all of their house noodles is nothing short of exceptional. Try the spicy pig ears before a bowl of their house noodles. You're welcome!
I got the Szechuan cold noodles (for dine in, see picture) and pork soy sauce noodles (to-go). Both dishes were delicious and I would totally go there again and try more dishes had I not been so limited on my time in Philadelphia! I liked adding a little bit of chili oil to both of the dishes, but they were fine without it too!Heads up, this place is cash only. There is an ATM available, but I didn't bring cash or my debit card, but I was able to settle my check using Venmo.
Good food, good service, and reasonably priced too. What's not to love? Everywhere else the prices have exploded but at least this place have been able to keep the prices very reasonable. Noodles were very good too.
$ Cash Only $ there is an ATM in the store. My mom is a pretty picky lady when it comes to eating out but she really enjoyed this place! Marinated Intestine was very flavorful. Cut into nice size pieces for snacking while you wait for your other courses. Beef Stir Fry with shaved noodles was really good. The noodles and beef were flavorful and really had in Cantonese what we would say 'wok hey' - which means I believe translates to they used big fire to cook it (lol someone help me out!) My mom really enjoyed the House Special hand drawn noodle soup. There was so much noodles that she couldn't finish because she really enjoyed the soup and drank most of it. My mom and aunt were also impressed at how clean everything including the bathroom was.
An AWESOME place to go if you’re looking for tasty food, fast service, and affordability. This place hits all the points for me. They have a wide selection of hand pulled noodle dishes, rice dishes and beverages. Their service is good and they are attentive. They only accept cash or Venmo so be prepared. I should mention that I was happy with their utensil set up: chopsticks and condiments and napkins all well packaged. Overall, a gem in chinatown so happy I came across this place.
Went for a late night bite and was not disappointed. Dumplings are fresh, stuffed and delicious. Our noodle/stir fry dishes had ample amounts of vegetables and meat -- we could not finish everything. Place was packed with young people sharing a few laughs and enjoying each others company. Staff was polite and there when you needed them. Just an FYI, its cash only so be prepared.
I reviewed this place in December 2015 when I was a little tiny about to gross my family out with dirty thoughts 7th grader!! I was a noodle soup enjoyer back then but now I’m a noodle soup god!! I legally go to Temple University which is a subway stop from city hall so I go here when the spirit lifts me!! I went here tonight to celebrate finishing my first year of Temple (thank you for applauding me even though you didn’t)!! I get the roast pork noodle soup and the honeydew smoothie every time and it fills my soul with happiness and comfort!! The broth is hot so that is why I get an icy drink!! It evens the hot soup out good!! The roast pork is the best and the noodles are very good!! The service is very good and the noodle soup came less than 5-10 minutes after I ordered it!!
The noodles had a very good taste in the beef stir fry and the meat was really juicy and tender. All the ingredients gave it great flavor. Girlfriend's chicken fried rice tasted very different compared to other places but the taste was good. Scallion pancake tasted awesome in the soy sauce.
