Extremely poor service, they don't even greet you when you come in. Everybody sitting on the phones. After waiting 15 minutes I had to come back in complaining only to find out they didn't even start the order and was talking about "we didn't even confirm" instead of getting up and preparing the order. There are many other African restaurant with the same or better food....and way better customer service. You know what they say about negative hands preparing your meals. STAY AWAY!
This food is authentic, amazing and transfers you to a grandmother's kitchen in Gambia. Ms. Nafisa makes everything fresh and made to order. I have a food allergy to nightshades and she listened/ learned about my allergy and made me a fan for life of her great food and her.I invite you to come for your experience!
The food is great and Nafisa is delightful. We enjoyed everything, but the potato greens were especially good.
The food is good. The folks are friendly. The restaurant has a nice small open and bright environment. I would recommend this spot if you want some good African food.
The potato greens is amazing! I order that all the time. I love the food here period! Got all my coworkers ordering from here too!
Really bad service. I've ordered from this place about 10 times. I just decided to get my dinner from there but it will be the last time. There is always this lady in the dining area prepping food(onions) & whenever I go in and approach the front desk like you would anywhere else, she gets a major attitude. I paid by card and she expressed that she didn't like it, she demanded my card before necessary and after charging it, slapped it down on the counter instead of handing it back to me. Their price went up but there's still hardly any meat in the dish. I will not be buying anything from here again. Le Mandingue has better quality and the better deal, as well as they don't ruin your night when you order from them.
I visited Nafisa's Kitchen tonight as I was meeting a girlfriend for dinner and wanted to try West African food. The owner, Nafisa, hails from Liberia. Her pineapple habanero shrimp and fried tilapia were divine! The shrimp was tender and not overcooked. It had the perfect balance of sweetness with a kick. The tilapia had a crispy, tasty skin overlying a buttery, flaky fish. They were both accompanied by a flavorful, aromatic fried rice and sweet plantains. Nafisa and her daughter, Kluboh, were welcoming and pleasant. Kluboh made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I imagine this is what it's like to be welcomed into the home of your Liberian Auntie for dinner. I live almost 20 miles away, but the food is definitely worth the drive into the city.
Me and my husband ordered the lamb and rice along with the meatball's and rice. I was definitely impressed but won't lie my husband does his lamb way better with more flavor to it. But otherwise everything was awesome!!
My nef brought in a platter of lamb and rice......it was enough to feed 3 people with some left over! This was one of thee best lamb and rice platters I had in a long time. I will be going back to get my own platter?
My husband and I ordered here a few times and he even left them a 5 start review..that's still up but this time we ordered we didn't recieve our sides and was over charged. I called back the next day and then knew not to answer. I'm disappointed and will not be ordering agian for my sweet potato fry that they knew they did not have but charged me anyway when I came in they said they will give me a free side. Next time we order..but what next time, it will not happen.I'm just dissapointed. Went from a favorite to all about money.
