Solid cheesesteak!! Fries were bleh. Minor issue with ordering online. Between placing the order and the time we stood waiting outside, it was 1 hour. Watched every single customer that came after us take their order and leave, it was during the week in the morning. Maybe have better luck just calling it in or ordering when you get there! Wouldn't stop me from going again, just something to take note if you are traveling to get here!
If you are a native Philadelphian or an out-of-towner wanting to try an authentic Philly cheesesteak, THIS is the place you’ve been looking for. Joe’s is the best of the best. To me, there is no other steak joint. The only thing they could do better is to have longer hours on Fridays.

Used to be one of my late husband's favorite places. Just ordered through GrubHub, and was very disappointed. It had absolutely no flavor to the point salt and pepper didn't even help. Sad

Service was terrible! Warning, if you show up at 8:45p, they will not take your order, despite their hours saying they are open until 9pm. They girl at the front was downright rude! I will never darken their doorway again. There are way too many cheesesteak places in Philadelphia to put up with this attitude. I highly recommend avoiding joe's steak.
I've been to a number of different Cheesesteak joints in Philly. This tops the list of terrible service. Who trains these employees???
As a born and raised Philadelphian, I’ve always heard great things about the steaks here. So I finally decided to make it one of my stops. I called the order in and arrived about 20 minutes later. The order wasn’t ready so we waited. We waited at least another 15 to 20 minutes. I don’t think this was a staffing issue as there were at least three people working, and it was mid day. They just failed to start the order until we got there. The sandwich wasn’t all that good. It was dry, and short on meat. My friend said the same about his. Maybe it was a bad day, and maybe we shouldn’t have given it a second chance, but it’s hard to return to a place for a less than delicious cheesesteak when you can get one on every corner that will be better.
Great cheesesteak. Compared to what's in the 'burbs, better quality meat (and enough to fill the roll), better quality bread. Not much of an experience except for conversation with others, also waiting for their food. Order ahead if possible. Cash only!
