Been here a two times, hoping to see an improvement. Their empanadas are ok, but for the size and price, it's a bit off-putting. $4 for an empanada, the size of my car key fob, is not right. Their beef and chicken empanadas leave a lot to be desired. Their only saving grace is the leeks empanadas. Coming from new york city, all the argentine bakeries sell empanadas twice the size, for half the price and they taste ?.Also, $12 bucks for a small Mason jar of chimichurri, come on guys really? Seriously?2 empanadas, a cappuccino, and the chimichurri jar came out to $26.00 ?
Very overpriced. This establishment is focused more on making as much money as possible rather than bringing customers an authentic Argentinian experience. What a shame. I remember when this place used to a a quaint place to drink coffee and eat while reading a book or listening to music, but now it’s basically a sit down restaurant, nothing special about it (just high cost for average food quality).
Wow!I almost don’t know where to begin.Besides the food, the best part of my experience was getting to chat it up with the cafe owner, Jezabel. I stopped in on a Sunday with friends… we dined in and sat in the sitting area where there was an unobstructed view the kitchen. Jezabel was there rolling pastry dough and was happy to share stories about her passion for food — recreating and modernizing her childhood food traditions.Everything about Jezabel’s is a WHOLE vibe. It’s no wonder… Jezabel’s cafe is warm and inviting… and, truly a reflection of her warmth.Y’all need to treat yourselves.Likely I should say something about the food…My go-tos are the empanadas — the spicy beef and spicy chicken. And, I’ve committed to trying something new each time I stop in. My last visit, I added Medialunas and Facturas into my rotation. Oh! LOVE the chorizo and lentil soup, which is seasonal. Ohhh… and the quiche is delicious. All of the food is decadent and delicious and reminiscent of home and comfort… a definition that will vary person to person. But, believe me when I say, Jezabel gives a taste of her home and traditions — with a twist — in every bite.Stop in.And, you can thank me later.
The empanadas are so beautiful and delicious and the alfajores are a perfect texture and generous with the dulce de leche. Truly premium baking. Prices are more than other neighborhood places and they would certainly grow if they were to dial those down a bit.
I’m from Argentina, actually living on Philly.Ordered 6 Empanadas for 28 USD - they are quite small for the price. Fugazzetta with not enough cheese. Should be more bigger for the price. Then, 4 medialunas for 12 USD. Over price. We waited for 30’ as they did not have at that time (2 pm)In the overall, 3 of 5. I expected our normal sizes in Argentina and our flavour, at least for that price.Place and location very good, service too.
Small, pricey, very disappointing. The spinach empanada tasted like chlorine or cleaning product, not like any vegetable I've tasted. The meat empanadas were just ok.We've tried to come several times during business hours and it's been closed without apparent reason. We finally got to try them and I won't be finishing the ones we bought today.
Food is overpriced and coffee isn't that good. The staff is nice though. They require a $10 minimum for credit/debit card purchases so make sure you have cash or venmo...
I am Argentinian and when I first moved to Philly I was so happy to find out that an Argentine Café was only a few blocks away from my new home. I went on three different occasions and was majorly disappointed by the quality of the foods and the prices each time. The empanadas are miniscule (very pricey), dry and tasteless. The croissants are also very dry and expensive for what you get. Please do not let this be your standard for Argentinian food!

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food (in my opinion) was a bit pricey. I do like Argentinian empanadas and have bought many in New Jersey. The typical Argentinian empanada is about double the size of the ones available here. Don't get me wrong these were very tasty. We had the spicy beef, spicy chicken, spicy corn, onion, leeks and cheese empanadas. However, after a number of empanadas, coffee, a drink and one dessert up to $90. If you can afford this place you'll probably love it. It is wheelchair accessible and very open. It includes seating inside and outside. Again, other than the price the places extremely clean and the staff are super nice. I gave them four stars because they were wheelchair accessible and had pretty decent food.
