Food was great! I ordered the fried whiting and was happy when my fish arrived still crispy and not soft from the steam. There are so many things I can eat here which is usually hard to find at a soul food restaurant (pescatarian). I was even more impressed with the customer service. I ordered from doordash and the driver forgot part of my order. I called the store and there was an immediate offer to make sure I got the rest of my order. Jamil's is a definite favorite now!
I just happened to slide across this place on ubereats and decided to give them a try and MAN am I glad I did. The yams almost made me wanna cry they are really SO good. The fried shrimp were delicious and the seafood mac was great also. I literally was ready to order again is how good everything was. Thank you Jamils cafe for serving good quality food. ? Even the roll was soft and fresh! And it was still hot!
It was awesome when I first started ordering from them but now I'm disappointed which usually happens when you think you've found a good place. They begin to skimp on the portions and use can instead of fresh food. I gave many chances because everyone has an off day but they kept getting worse. Looking for another soul food restaurant that is consistent. THEY subbed out my food w/o calling with items I don't eat. Salmon was so small I could barely get 3 bites. Very disappointed.
I’m not new to Jamils cafe. I used to order from his truck. I’ve been ordering a lot now thru Grubhub. The first time I ordered whiting and shrimp combo. The lady called and asked if it was ok to substitute my fish with swai because they ran out of mine. I said sure and I’m glad I did. That fish was so good and seasoned and breaded to perfection. It was so so good. The shrimp were also good. I just think they could be a little bigger. I ordered it again and same great taste. Same sides as always, potato salad and Mac and cheese and both were delicious. Next time I tried the fried wings and omg they were so good too. The crunchiness and the flavor were just so good. You could tell they were fresh and cooked in fresh oil ijs. Overall, the customer service over the phone was great and the Grubhub drivers were nice and friendly and Delivered my food while still hot. I will definitely order again.
I waited forever to pick up two orders. One of those delivered orders earned me a 1 star rating, But the young lady that was helping in the front was very kind. Nice place too. Looked clean.

All the food was delicious and nice portions. Had fish and shrimp combo, with Mac and cheese, cabbage and side of seafood salad which was so good! Will definitely be back
Let me 1st start off saying the customer svc was EXCELLENT!!! Diamond was very welcoming and polite. I got a fish platter.The fish was perfect, mac n cheese was ok, yams was on the money…will definitely be goin back again…nothin like great customer service!! Keep it up
I love the food and customer service! I ordered a half pan of jerk barbecue wings & salmon on New Year’s eve. I also had the peach cobbler &strawberry crunch cake…..My Lord!! This is definitely on my top 5?
Did not live up to my expectations. Got food from them last week for the first time through door dash and it was on point and seasoned. This week I opted to pick it up myself and I was met at the door with the rudest woman telling me "there ain't no order for me". When i explained again then she located it but said i am not sure if this is yours! Taken back by her i took my food home and was disappointed again as the food lacked the flavor that it had the previous week, my shrimp was the size of a nickel in which i paid a pretty penny for! Overall not please with this neighborhood establishment and there are areas of hospitality that i think they should look into. I am not in the business of doging establishments out as I am a restaurateur myself, but there are several areas of concern when it comes to Jamils Cafe. Please learn from this post and not jump to defensive mode. Number one goal is to satisfy your customers. The person at the front may need training on how to deal with customers and how to great them.
