Wow! Delicious first try of Huff and Puff. Got the brisket fries, a mango-pineapple lemonade and mango bread. The brisket is amazing!!! It’s incredibly tender and flavorful. The portion is so generous that I’m going to have lunch for work tomorrow. The fries are really like home style potatoes, thick and hearty and, thankfully, NOT greasy. The lemonade has slices of fresh fruit and it’s refreshing not syrupy sweet. The mango bread is like a mini loaf. Think I’m going to save it for breakfast with coffee. Seriously, everything is like home style comfort food. Kudos to the owners! 100% happy with my meal!
This bbq place is amazing. The pulled pork was juicy and tender, the macaroni and cheese was creamy and the noodles were cooked just right. The fried pickles are soooo good, and the spicy sauce that comes with them is fantastic. Had a chance to take some fries off of a friend's plate, they're probably some of the best I've ever had. We dined in, there was some seating and a mildly Western vibe which was fun. This was our first time there, and we will absolutely be going again. There were tons of people coming in and out for takeout which makes me happy. The woman behind the counter was SO sweet and made sure we were taken care of. This was a great little place and I will highly recommend it to anyone!
This place is amazing, accommodating, friendly, and delicious. Do they have a great BBQ meat selection? Yes. Do they have a wide variety of creative vegetarian options? Yes. Do they have fantastic sides? Yes. Do they offer tasty desserts? Yes.All of the food is prepared by passionate staff in a small, rustic neighborhood spot. You can eat in or take out. They even have a couple tables outside.I want to be sure to mention that the meats are not overly smoked which allows the flavor of the chicken, brisket, pork, and ribs to shine through. Some places use too much smoke which hides the flavor of the meat. This place kisses the meat with smoke. The sides here are not afterthoughts. The Mac & Cheese is a real standout as is the mayo-based coleslaw with a nice vinegar bite. It's all good.Kim, who takes orders at the counter, is also the dessert maker. Be sure to ask what cakes and pies she has on hand as it changes frequently. She's a talent. The staff is very helpful and accommodating of special dietary needs, especially with prior notice.I've been all over BBQ country, so I've become a bit picky. Huff and Puff is a needed and welcome addition to the Philly BBQ scene. I'm looking forward to my return trip.
Best BBQ around hands down! Will not disappoint!
We went here for my mom's birthday today and she ordered the vegan sampler platter, everyone else ordered brisket, pulled pork, chicken fried ribs, burger, wings, and macaroni bowl. It's a little place, but the food was out of this world. It was delicious, presented beautifully, and the portions were enough for us. Kim was amazing and accommodating for us, it was like she was part of the family. Everyone there was so wonderful. The only thing that sucked was that there's not many places to park, we had to park on a garage but the walk wasn't terrible. Either way, this restaurant was awesome.
I got the The Huffing Pit Flight for One With Mac and Cheese and added on a corn muffin. Let me just say this was an excellent experience. Kind staff, clean, quick. I came on an empty stomach and left completely stuffed with leftovers (I’m a big guy like 6’2 200lb) the variety was amazing and delicious. For all the food it’s a great deal (around $30 bucks!) with many other great less expensive options.
So beyond good!! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. Came from out of town with only two things on our list to try and this was one of them, we couldn’t be happier. Large portions and lots of flavor! If we come back to Philly we will go out of way to go back.
Due to the high rating, been wanting to try this place. So the overall smokiness flavor of BBQ meats were legit. However, the portions for the price was dismal. The side that came with it was larger than the amount of brisket or pulled pork in the platters. The half rack of ribs were dry and small (very little meat) Sauce used on rib tasted like an Asian orange chicken sauce. The spiral cut fries worked well in the trashcan fries. The Texas Reuben sandwich was good but little messy to eat. The baked beans side was dry and was not fresh. Mac and cheese side was creamy, definitely better choice.Overall, Very disappointed with the experience.
I have eaten ribs all over the U.S. Good ones, not-so-good, outstanding and fair--these are amazing! Truly artful right here in our own backyard! They really care as does Kim who runs the front of the house! Great addition to the 'hood.
This hit the spot. Got the flight for two with my wife and it was the perfect amount with a bit leftover. Our first time trying and wanted a little bit of everything. The brisket was out of this world. We'll definitely be going back. Staff was very friendly as well.
