I’ve been going to Hook&Reel on the boulevard since they first opened. The last six months or so they have just gotten very lazy and stingy. I understand due to Covid prices had to go up, but what I don’t understand is how prices go up and they give you less food than before. Today myself and three co-workers made a take out order. we had to go there two different times and both times our order wasn’t right. I ordered a shrimp boil with a pound of shrimp, corn, potatoes, broccoli, and a pound and a half of sausage. I only had six shrimps and and a half a pound of sausage, when they charge me three times for the sausage. My coworker order was all screwed up and had the wrong spice level. All of our order were between $40 & $50. We were so disappointed and I will not be returning.
We enjoy the food (took out this time), but observed this location isn't the cleanest. The staff was having a great time laughing it up and cursing telling their stories (youngsters). Gone are days of professionalism. Made me wonder if place will be open much longer.Parking: Great on-site parking at door.
The silverware is plastic which makes it very hard to open the crab legs. Yes, they give you a cracker but that does not help with some of the legs. I just called to see if they do have any silverware and they told me, "No, that they use plastic. "
This place used to be great. Got a to go order of snow crab legs that were mushy. It seems like I received old crab legs that were reheated because they were definitely overcooked as well. They are going to get someone sick doing this (probably to save money). I will be notifying the health department.
Excellent service. Excellent dishes of seafood. Nice atmosphere. Waitress were very professional and eager to help with any questions about their menu. Would recommend others to visit this restaurant.
I placed an order online with pick up time an hour in the future only to arrive an hour later to find out my order was not put in. On top of that, I was told one of the items I ordered was no longer available (even though I was able to order it). I spent almost $150 and all I got was an apology and a story about being short staffed, which also included a half joking request asking me if I know anybody looking for work. Nothing additional thrown in for my inconvenience, nothing taken off my bill. And it's EMPTY in here. Having been in the service industry in the past, the customer experience is everything. Things happen all the time but the way it's handled makes a world of difference in turning a bad experience around and still getting your customer to come back. I will not be returning.
Run and hide! Don’t go there! First of all it’s Chinese owned! They stay in the back cooking the food while American Serv... I went there a couple of times...this time was my last! I walked in and the entire bar area was a mess even the tables off to the sides! I stood there while the waiter finished up serving as he was busy. The manager sat to the side just looking and not giving a helping hand. I wanted to sit down at the bar but couldn’t. It took about 10min to actually sit. I wanted to just walk out!!! I won’t be back that’s for sure!
If I could give them no stars I would. We were greeted right away but sat for 10 minutes without anyone even coming to take drink orders or anything. All the staff was sitting around on their phones. It was literally just me and my wife and one other lady with her kid in there. Super unprofessional and not welcoming at all
Went close to closing time but the staff was friendly, food okay (I thought since it said "boil", it would come in a bag. Not a metal tray and definitely not with the thick sauce kind of thrown on my food) and our waitress must have been trying to overcompensate for something but she kept forgetting to bring items requested after being reminded 3times. Oh and arriving at 8:45pm, it was only about three tables occupied in the entire restaurant.
they need workers. maybe great food but i will never know. all the food was cold tonight
