One of many great delis within the Reading Terminal Market. We got the Hershel's Pastrami, Rachel style (with coleslaw, Russian dressing, and melted cheese). It was really good and definitely big enough to split. The pastrami itself was a little tough in spots but generally very good. Loved the bread and how crispy it stayed despite all the juices! It was very confusing though about where to order and I would have loved some guidance about where the line began and ended and where to place your order.

Grabbed a pastrami sandwich to go for a quick by while staying across from Reading Terminal Market. Also tried a neighboring deli sandwich and were much more impressed/satisfied with this one. Best pastrami I've ever had, I was disappointed my husband got saurkraut on it and I still loved it! Did try and order some latkes but they were sold out :( Lots of options in the Market, don't miss Hershel's!

What a great place to eat set inside a very busy market with so much choice I went for the freshly carved turkey wow the sandwich was massive no wonder there was a que probably one of the best sandwiches I have ever had Fantastic eating experience

This was by far the best pastrami I’ve ever had. The sandwich was absolutely perfect and every bite was amazing. The Latkes were sooooooo good. They were super crunchy/crispy and pillowy on the inside. They were a little grey? But it didn’t change the flavor to me. Lastly, the matzo ball was super flavorful and the soup was perfectly seasoned. They also had a cute bar you could sit at behind the line. It was a great choice considering all the food at this location, I do think this deli is definitely worth trying it out!

This was our first sandwich place to try-out in the reading terminal market. We ordered turkey sandwich with everything (cheese, Russian dressing, coleslaw, and pickles) and it was definitely a right choice we made! We were amazed by the Russian dressing part, it was more like the sweet & creamy sauce. Also we were more surprised by how the turkey meat because it was really soft & juicy than we thought! We believe that their other meat will be the same, so there is a good reason that we will come back to try their other sandwiches!I was a bit disappointed about the "Matzo Ball Soup", actually, the balls (dumplings) part. If I have an option to just order the broth, I will definitely do that because the broth was surprisingly really fresh & clear & not too salty (but perfectly seasoned)!Last but not least, the sandwich bread was nicely toasted and crispy; highly recommended to get the challah bread if you order turkey, but I think this bread will go well with any type of meat at here! Okay

I got the meat sampler with brisket, corned beef, and pastrami with a side of cole slaw and pickles.Brisket: On the dry side, not a whole lot of flavor. Needs some kind of sauce.Corned beef: Very fatty, also dry.Pastrami: DELICIOUS. I wish I had just gotten a pastrami on rye with mustard, though that would have been the same price (nearly $15) as the sampler.Cole slaw: Cabbage was cut too large, tasted like typical picnic slaw.Pickled: pretty sure these came from a jar.Overall I wasn’t overly impressed, though I will admit the pastrami is excellent. The sandwiches are overpriced for what you get. With so many other options in Reading Terminal, I’ll look elsewhere next time.

Fantastic sandwiches here! Highly recommend the pastrami or the Ruben! They will not disappoint to say the least! Highly recommend

Best Pastrami in Philly and also better than all the Pastrami I've tried in NY too. There was one better Pastrami place in NYC but it unfortunately closed in 2019.The turkey is excellent as well, really impressive. But excellent turkey can be more readily found. Pastrami is the king of processed meats for a reason. The brisket and the corned beef are very good but I am not a connoisseur of either.

Must try when at reading terminal food market. Best pastrami, brisket and corn beef sandwiches. Juicy and tender, loaded with meat. Our favorite style is the grilled Reuben (sauerkraut and swiss cheese) and the grilled Rachel (coleslaw and swiss cheese).Do not get intimidated by the long lines, it moves pretty fast and well worth it.

Amazing sandwiches! Great workers! Line may be long but it depends on the time of day
