Let me tell you, their ramen hits the spot. After finishing, I fell into a deep food coma right afterwards, but the vigor afterwards was great! I am a big fan of ramen noodle soups, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the ramen and the assortment of seasonings available at the table which I felt was legitimate and authentic. The broth was deep and flavorful, the noodles had the perfect texture, and the toppings were just right. I was a big fan of the chashu pork, too. I highly recommend their signature tonkatsu ramen.

Short and sweet: best ramen I've had on the east coast. It can pick you up after a rough day, nourish you when the cold months kick in, or simply fill your belly with flavor and bliss. Highly recommend the Hajimaru Signature Ramen!!!

Very helpful staff. One of the best Ramon House on the east coast.

We ordered Ramen and gyoza. The gyoza were perfectly fried and the sauce with it was delicious. The Ramen had so much flavor with just enough spice to make your lips sting but not to burn. (I might be a little biased as I enjoy spicy food) But overall 5/5 stars!

This is my local Ramen spot. I used to go here all the time and did my best to order takeout during the pandemic to help them out. Tonight, I asked for "just a little more broth" because they rarely give you enough broth and they actually said to me, "that will be a $3 charge." After paying $13 for the veggie ramen with veggie broth, which likely costs all of $4 worth of ingredients, they seriously asked me to pay 23% of the total cost for just a little more broth. Not for more veggies, noodles, or anything of substance, but miso paste and water. $3. I will literally never go back again.

In my opinion this is easily the best Ramen in Fishtown. Make sure you order the Signature Ramen with the mini curry chicken katsu bowl add-on!

*WOULD RECOMMEND*Stumbled upon this place on my way to get ice cream in Fishtown and thought I'd give this place a try. The restaurant is quite small with two large party tables and two counter tables. The menu is not too big and has all you ever need in a ramen shop, some appetizers, some rice bowls, and of course, the classic ramen and speciality ramen bowls. Price was standard of ramen in Philly ($10-$15). You can add additional toppings to ramen and adjust spice level. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the ramen noodles were and the noodles were different depending on dish. My Hajimaru Signature came was thin ramen noodles with the perfect al dente texture. The shoyu ramen came with a thicker noodle. Overall soup was decent, could be richer. Chashu was very flavorful, salty, and lean, if only it had a bit more fat.Hajimaru Signature ramen - their speciality ramen with all the toppings you could ask for in a ramen in a spicy tonkotsu broth. This broth wasn't as good as the shoyu broth. I asked for less spicy and it wasn't bad at all. Love love their noodles, has a very nice chew to it.Shoyu ramen - thicker noodles than hajimaru ramen. This broth has a stronger tonkotsu taste and was better than Hajimaru one in my opinion.*VERDICT*I wouldn't mind coming back again

We loved our ramen. I got Shoyu and she got Tan Tan. Both were excellent. The service was also friendly and attentive.

Food was good and the service was great. It's a casual dining counter service type deal

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the food here. It was my first meal in Philadelphia and a memorably good one.I got a rice bowl and my wife got a ramen. They were both very rich and flavorful. The prices were pretty fair and I would say my group of 3 all left happy with our experience. Also, the server was very nice.
