Excellent service and amazing food.
The staff was really kind. A lot of great menu options. Cash only which is kinda ridiculous for a place like this. I got the avocado toast and it was a mess. Bread was soggy and not toasted, pretty much all that was on the toast was a whole roasted red pepper and an absurd amount of arugula. They missed the bread with the avocado (probably because you couldn’t see it under all the arugula). Sweet potato empanadas were great. I’d go back and try it again, but definitely don’t get the avocado toast.
We had the kitchen sink, Belgian waffle, and sweet potato empanadas. The food was AMAZING. Come with an empty stomach though, because the portions are generous. And to top off all the great food, the service was phenomenal. Every time we looked up from our plates, any wait staff that was passing by would stop to make sure that we were okay. I'm so glad we stopped in here, and I'll definitely be coming back the next time I'm in Philly.
If you've got a sweet tooth and love breakfast foods, you'll love this place. The food is absolutely massive, and pretty delicious too! The staff are very nice as well. Cash only, but they do have an atm. There may sometimes be a wait to enter, and may be difficult finding nearby parking. Otherwise definitely a place to stop by.
always a pleasant stop...just saying. cant beat the skillets
Absolutely delicious!! I would stand in line for their food every time. Parking in that area is a challenge. However, there is a package store conveniently across the street, as this location is BYOB.
This use to be one of my favorite breakfast places. I'm not sure if it's under new management. After killing around 15 to 20 ants literally that were on and around my table, our order finally came. The food portion was great, but tasted horrible. The utensils were dirty and food was floating in my water. I accepted the price increase, but didn't appreciate the 18% added to all orders above $50.00 which wasn't the gratuity. I think one should explore other options making this place your last choice. So disappointing.
The food was really good as was the service. Rick at the front door was very accommodating and we were grateful. Our waiter Matt was awesome! The only frustrating things about this restaurant are (this location): it's cash only, they charge an automatic 18% gratuity after the check hits $50, no split checks and its BYOB. If you are prepared for all of that then you'd be good to go.
Customer service was on point from my initial phone call into the restaurant to see if they were still accepting seating. Rick is the man. His personality is strongly felt via the phone. What a genuine guy. Upon arrival, I introduced myself to him and he even remembered my name from our phone conversation--Happy to have met him. I wish him many blessings. The food was great (as usual), fresh, tasty and plentiful. My fav consumption at GEC is the creamy, rich and delicious salted creme Brule latte! Aaaaaand it's just $5.... please don't change the price. Lol Life needs more affordable yummies like this...
Horrible customer service. They don’t do like refunds for food if it’s not up to the expectations and if it doesn’t taste good. The manger said that the chicken and waffles was bad because it’s just how they made? Mhmm idk what that means basically sounded like I was wrong and there was no “the customer is right or even acknowledged” definitely not coming back just because the customer service isn’t good. The sweet pancakes and stuff was good but savory food is not good.
