Daughter & I had surprise birthday dinner for my wife here last night and the meal & ambiance was outstanding! BYOB a plus! Just a wonderful meal & this gem is my new favorite in CC.. ENJOY
We will be back!! They treated us like royalty!! Food was phenomenal!! Went there for my daughters 20th bday, she picked it, and boy did she pick a GREAT place!!
Ate here with my wife and two kids. My wife has a gluten allergy and misses Italian food. Their gluten free offerings were delicious. I had the sweet potato gnocchi and salmon, both were amazing. They were accommodating for my small children's picky diets as well. Great service, I'd go again next time I'm in town!
This experience was amazing from beginning to end. Each bite was a new flavor experience. They are great with gluten free, with the pasta having the feel of real pasta. I highly recommend this restaurant, and will come back any time I'm in philly.
I honestly have nothing but praises for our dinner here. Everything we ate was delicious. We love a good byob, and you can’t beat the prices for this quality of food. We had the buratta and calamari appetizers, the pork chop (amazing), stuffed chicken and chicken a la Valentina, and cannoli, cheesecake and tiramisu for dessert. I would order any of those dishes again. (Had the gnocchi before and loved that too). I highly recommend for a date night or small group. Yes it’s small, a little noisy, neither was a problem.
Sometimes, a tourist gets lucky and finds a local gem. Giorgio on Pine is an excellent example of this. My wife and I had been touring Philadelphia for a few days, and decided to try Giorgio's for our final dinner. The restaurant is small, but inviting. They have a BYOB policy, and did not charge a corkage fee. My wife had the linguine. Her portion was enormous, but she managed to eat about 2/3s of it. I had a few bites, and thought it was very tasty. I had the veal with lemon, served in a delicate wine sauce. The veal was very tender. The portion was large (but not as huge as my wife's). We shared a large slice of chocolate cake, which we enjoyed in our hotel room later that night. The prices are reasonable for the area. Please note the sound level is a little on the high side, but that was due to everyone appearing to enjoy their food. We would certainly consider coming back during a future trip to Philadelphia.
Ughhh I just can't rave enough, the question is what do I not have to say?? Nothing negative that's for sure. First and foremost no matter how god or bad the food if the customer service isn't good then nothing else matters. Gorgio excelled at both, phenomenal. People walked around, spoke to us, checked up on us, they were patient in telling us about the food and the specials, which I appreciated. The appetizers were phenomenal and the entrees even better. The only thing is that the place is very, very small. For me it wasn't such a big deal but if you aren't a fan of that open concept or being able to see each and every table so close then I would keep that in mind the quality of the food soon had me forgetting these minor details. We very much enjoyed the grilled salad(I was skeptical at first, all I could hear was Gordon Ramsay's voice) and the amazing burrata cheese with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and tomatoes. The parmesan crusted pork chop was so tender and juicy it melted in my mouth and they paired it PERFECTLY with well seasoned potatoes and spinach. I still drool thinking about it. My friend loved the gluten free parmesan crusted chicken and pasta as well as the GF bread options. Of course I made room for dessert with the phenomenal and delicious cannoli ,no matter how full you always make room for a good cannoli!! And let me tell you .. that paired with the amazing cappuccino they made for me (talented I say, talented!!) it ended the night on a fabulous note that left me smiling and giving my thanks. Gorgio on pine is doing everything right and I hope this continues, tasting what I did that night, I have no doubt I'll be back!!.Parmesan crusted pork chop: 1,000,000/10Gluten free parmesan crusted chicken and pasta: 10/10burrata cheese with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and tomatoes: 1,000,000/10Grills caeser: 10/10Cappuccino: 10/10!!!!!Cannoli: 10/10!!!!!!!!!!!
Best Italian place in the city, with lots of gluten free options! I love how knowledgeable the staff is about the specials and the dishes, and the long descriptions they give. It makes sure you get the right thing! The food is amazing every time I've been, just a reminder to heat up your plates so I don't have to scarf down the ravioli :-) but they could serve me cold ravioli every time I went and had still go
I wanted steak and they had a ribeye in barolo wine sauce with mushrooms. It exceeded all my expectations. It was cooked perfectly and I loved the sauce! It was only $27. The bread before dinner is served with the best baked garlic. It's so creamy that it's decadent. Oh, I also loved the spinach which was sauteed with garlic. I already want to go back. I bet the veal is just as good as the steak. I'm Italian and am scared to get the pasta because I'm really picky about sauce; Ralph's sauce is like my family's because we're both from Naples. The steak was so good that I may risk it.
This place is like going to your Italian grandparents for dinner. The service and food are outstanding. Prices are affordable and its byob wine. Highly recommend coming here. Get a reservation. They’re always packed.
