We haven't had Pat's yet. But this sandwich was delicious. Great steak sandwich (get the whiz!). The bread was amazing. The steaks were amazing. Highly recommend. Pro Tip: bring cash as it is cash only!

First time in Philly from Arizona and first time trying a Philly cheesesteak and it was the worst experience ever the cashier at the window with the most belligerent person I’ve ever met in my entire life with being completely disrespectful for no reason other than the fact that they said they had to make food at 1 AM in the morning hint if you don’t like to cook at 1 AM in the morning no one is forcing you to have that job quit especially if you’ve been doing it for 15 years like the cashier said. I don’t care if you’re from Philly there’s no reason to treat anyone of disrespect for no reason have some human decency the cashier needs to be fired the place needs to be cleaned up it’s 2022 either keep up with the standards or close down your business. FYI I can make a Philly cheesesteak 10 times better and I’m not even from here and I’ve not had a cook since I was seven years old get some new ingredients or get some better cooks who care about your business

My wife and I took the Geno vs Pat’s challenge and we both agreed Pat’s was better. We kept the orders the same, but the cheese and seasoning at Pat’s made all the difference. Geno’s gets 8/10 while Pat’s gets 10/10.

We made a special trip to Geno’s because we had heard so much about it, and we were so glad that we did! The sandwiches were delicious and the cheese fries were addictive. It is cash only (as the 1,000 signs point out) and the staff had the perfect mix of quick service and Philly snark. It was a lovely June day, so we ate at one of the patio tables and enjoyed some people-watching. Would totally make the trip again!

Like so many have done while visiting Philly I was able to do tph Genos and Pats Challenge which place makes the better steak and cheese sub. I think you have to compare the same sub so my brother and i got the Wiz With which is steak and cheese with grilles onions and cheese wiz. I preferred genos and he liked past so the battle will continue for another 50 years I am sure

Excellent food served hot and fresh. Well worth th wait. Parking was tricky in that area, but after you get your steak you willbe in heaven.

All I gotta say is… it was not worth the hype. I ordered the original with cheese whiz. And the steak was very dry and there wasn’t as much meat in it as I imagined and not as flavorful. The bread was nice and soft tho. However, the lights at night was pretty!

YUMMY!!It was delicious!! HOT (not spicy) JUICY (not greasy). FLAVORFUL (in every bite). The service was amazing also. They were friendly, fast and helpful. My husband said let’s get cheez whiz and I immediately said no. The guy at the counter said “ yes you really do want it and if you do t like it I’ll make you a new and it will be on me”. Needless to say it was the best cheese steak I have ever ate!

We totally did the tourist thing today and I’m not sorry. We didn’t plan a stop in Philadelphia but our oldest saw this place on Food Network and really wanted to go. It wasn’t too far off the highway and most of the streets had 2 hour parking. Everything was full so we drove around and waited for someone to leave which only took about 5 min. It was cash only but there is an ATM across the street. Our kiddo was thrilled with the sandwich & we thought it was good too. They had cheese fries for our younger one. Everyone working there was very nice. The prices were reasonable and we got to see a little of the city.

This place is popular, but there are better cheese steaks in Philadelphia. The beef seemed inferior to what I am used to. Very disappointing. The staff were not particularly friendly. Quite impersonal. I do not recommend.
