The shaved head girl is extremely rude and my chicken sandwich was fried hard as a rock . i used to really like this place when the owner was there all the time , now it just seems like the place fell apart because the workers dont care or try i doubt im ever coming back, you should stay away from this place if you wanna keep what good memories you had . i really hope the owner does something…
Good doughnuts! Although I preferred the regular kind rather than the "hot and fresh". The strawberry tart was my favourite. Our family had a lot of these over the course of one weekend. :)
Ordered a selection of fancy donuts, waited for a little while and was given my order. I didn’t think to check the taped box until I got home and they didn’t give us the selection we ordered. Also for some reason they charge a 10% service fee, on top of their already high prices.
Donuts are pretty good, but this spot is severely understaffed. I ordered 20 minutes ago when there was no line for fresh donuts and I'm still waiting... So I wrote this...Annd after 30 minutes, I asked to speak to management, was given a sad excuse of them doing the best they can and was offered an insulting refund.
Federal Donuts at 1776 Ben Franklin Pkwy. Is a fun, interesting "Donut" shop, brought to us by a couple James Beard winning restaurateurs! Featuring some unique flavor combinations for Donuts and offering wonderful Korean style fried chicken dishes, this was an amazingly wonderful discovery. Conveniently, it was attached to our hotel. The first day, we had chicken fingers, a breakfast sandwich, a lime chili mango and lavendar blackberry Donuts with some coffee. It was just amazing. So good. Service was fantastic and the food was so good. The shop is very clean, welcoming, very consumer friendly. The staff is efficient, welcoming and provided an Excellent Consumer Experience. We each had breakfast another day, each having the breakfast sandwich, coffee, and more donuts. Loving it SO much we decided to get a box of Donuts to bring home. Amazingly, they actually made it! When you're in Philadelphia, you need to go for an enjoyable experience to Federal Donut. You'll thank yourself for going.
Sneaky tip adding -- up to 40% tip? While the food is great, I find it sneaky that as of 2022, a 10% "service charge", i.e. tip, is added (which they quickly zoom through in the checkout screen and have a small tucked away sign which says they add this now), THEN ask for another 10-30% tip. I tip well, but my take-out tip from Fed Donuts doesn't need to add up to 40%!
Local. Delicious. Pricy. Cake-y donuts. Chicken sandwiches are tasty. Recently tried the chicken tenders. Also tasty but I almost choked on a 3/4" bone piece. Yikes!

The fresh hot doughnuts are the best you can get anywhere. You might be able to find a place that has doughnuts as good but none better. The glazed are very good too. The service is very friendly, great Crew. This will be a must stop from now on when I visit South Philly.
