This was genuinely the best Philly food experience I have had in a long time… the menu is whimsical and approachable, the drinks are delicious and unique. Get EVERY dipping sauce. Everything from the fries to the meat cuts to the dessert are unique, stimulating, and genuinely eye roll and smack the table good. Do yourself a favor and go. You’re welcome.
Far East Descendant is located in Chinatown and it truly was one of the best experiences I've had out in months. The owner was incredible (taught himself to cook, built like half of the restaurant, wants to share his love for Cantonese food with Philly, has an inquirer article about him and the restaurant). From start to finish you could really feel the love and passion in the dishes and drinks. There is also a rooftop they open up in the summer time which was beautiful!!!This small business deserves way more recognition and I really can't believe this gem isn't packed full every night. All of this is to say I would 100000% recommend getting here ASAP!!! Perfect for date night or a GNO
I came with my Fiancé. They have very good food and an interesting spin on Cantonese food. On top of that the food certainly compliment the drinks well. This a very laid back space and they have a beautiful outdoor balcony on the second floor. Please give this place a try !
This hidden gem in Chinatown has some of the best vegetarian food in the city. The white lotus patty is hands down the best veggie sandwich, and the revolving cocktails are absolute genius. My favorite is the GC, a bright classic drink that pairs with the lotus patty beautifully!
Phenomenal quality and service. We had three boards of filet, duck, ribs, chicken, pork belly and other specialties. Won ton soup dumplings were fantastic. Great restaurant.
The staff here is pleasant and a joy to interact with. They offer great suggestions and know their menu well. Food is very good and high quality, though I would say it's a little on the pricy side. Definitely try their taro fries and go through their cocktail menu. They have some pretty unique ideas and I'm looking forward to seeing what else they create.
Great atmosphere, love the style. I really like how the menu gives some history. Very unique place. I really enjoyed my night out. The food was tasty, and I'm glad they have vegan options. The drinks are fantastic! Our waiter was super cool and friendly.
Amazing atmosphere and even better food. If you're looking for a new spot to be a regular look no further THIS IS THE PLACE! I have to say though the drink the bartender Brandon made for me Made My Night!!!!! it's called a "GC" or Gen"c" ( I guess that's what the kids call it these days). It is very similar to a drink I would normally get but Brandon had some suggestions that made it 10 times better. 1st he suggested putting it over ice and it changed my world! This helped bring out the cinnamon and vanilla! It was sweet but not to sweet and I don't know how but when Brandon makes it the hint of citrus is spot on!! If your looking for a new drink I Highly recommend the "GC"!!!
Delicious food! The restaurant is clean with great service! I recommend pork belly and taro fries. My kids liked the steak with rice and taro fries!
Everything here is amazing. Drinks were creative, food was adventurous, staff treated us like family. I wish I lived closer so I could come back again and again!
