Okay so I visited this place I ordered chicken nachos which were cooked on the actual baking tray NO PARCHMENT PAPER UNDERNEATH! that’s unsanitary I also ordered the honey hot wings the sauce is good however my wings weren’t DONE ! I’m talking about deep pink when bitten. I had passion fruit margaritas that was okay ! The most annoying part is the tinsy tiny extremely fast MICE running around on balcony where your feet are. I saw five super tiny baby mice. Then to get a bill of $104 and can’t even eat my leftovers if wanted too is bogus
This restaurant has a huge outdoor seating area. It's perfect for hosting a party. The virgin margaritas are good. Unfortunately, the compostable straws were the highlight of the visit. The mushroom fajita consisted of two cans of unseasoned greasy mushrooms without even so much as a seasoning packet from Walmart. The dish consisted of canned mushrooms, grease, and a few roughly choped peppers. Disgusting. Chips and salsa are not on the house. I asked for salsa and hot sauce hoping it would help the meal and the waitress brought enough salsa for two tortilla chips-for our table of 3. Aside from being nasty, there was way too much food on the plate. Also, given the fact that it's 2022, how is it possible that this restaurant thinks it appropriate to serve water in plastic cups? Every other beverage was served in glass. They couldn't be bothered to refill the single use plastic cups, so each if us was given 3 plastic cups of water... so wasteful. The staff was polite.
Went on a hike with my nieces and nephew and was looking for a child-friendly restaurant as their aren't too many options in the area. El Poquito was perfect! They had a kids menu, high chairs, etch and sketchs for entertainment, and even put straws in their water without us having to ask. I got a steak bowl with much more food than you get in a Chipotle bowl for less money! Atmosphere is awesome, huge patio to sit outside and enjoy the weather. My sister got a margarita and loved it, she's a tough grader too!
Had a great meal on the patio. Wait staff is very friendly and attentive. Recommend the carnitas enchiladas and the Tierra y Mar fajitas
I came in for happy hour. It was pretty empty here hem I arrived. I asked for a table outside. It was a beautiful day so being outside was our only reason for visiting. I was told it would be about ten minutes. I sat at the bar & ordered drinks. Checked back several times…An hour later I was told to stay at the bar because they wouldn’t be able to accommodate us. I wish I had known that in the beginning so I could have gone elsewhere The drinks I had (blood orange margaritas) were good. Food was decent (tortilla soup, chips & queso, braised beef tacos). The corn wasn’t as good as it was in the past. Tasted like canned corn with a few seasonings. Apparently they were short staffed. Next time I’ll try a different spot.
Giving two stars as Brendan, our server, was wonderful and the place is in a convenient location in Chestnut Hill, but the food and drinks are really terrible. I enjoyed it when it first opened several years ago when I'd go fairly regularly, but the food quality has really went downhill and that's an understatement. I gave it a couple more tries since the pandemic, but after my last visit I had to put it on the "never again" list. While the food came out quickly (entrees almost immediately after ordering it to the point where I insisted to the food runner that they couldn't be ours, along with our appetizers coming out later due to no fault of our server), it was evident they already have the food completely prepared and sitting out as our tacos were freezing cold (and very bland).
Didn’t have the best experience unfortunately. Which was quite a disappointment because the food we saw as we were waiting to be seated looked amazing. They have nice outdoor seating with heaters. The margarita was tasty. I’ll have to try it again to leave a food review. I honestly want to believe our experience was isolated. We ended up waiting so long we ended up getting our food Togo. My sister said he food was good once she was able to eat it. My mom and I had a different experience with reheating the food that came out room temperature to begin with. Three stars is for the server she was nice and the drinks.
Went here with my daughters for my birthday after a recommendation. Quite possibly some of the worst food I’ve ever had. We ordered nachos with carnitas as an appetizer. That came out cold and completely tasteless. For my main dish, I selected the carne asada bowl. Again, it was ice cold, the meat looked like dried shoe leather and was flavorless and the rice underneath was underwhelming. The one (!!!) desert they had was ok. Who only has one desert on the menu though? In an area with so many fantastic Mexican restaurants, this one is best avoided. Wait staff was nice. EDIT: Looking at all these other great reviews. Maybe I went on an off night?
Great setup during this pandemic. Service was fast and always with a smile. We went with kids, and it was easy to find something for everyone.
Delicious food! I had the mushroom quesadillas and they were so good! My brother enjoyed the curried cauliflower tacos and my friend got the steak fajitas, they were both really happy with their meal. I’ll definitely will have to come back and try out more. I thought the atmosphere was chill and decor was nice. Good place to meet up with friends or go on a date.
