Editing my review as of 5/13/2022I’ve been hearing great things about Ekta and wanted to give it another try as we’ve been craving Indian food. This time we ordered enough naan (2 pieces per person) and got the Manchurian cauliflower appetizer (which was delicious). We also got chicken tikka masala and lamb vindaloo. Everything was delicious and fresh. When we went to pick it up, the gentlemen inside were very nice and the food was ready shortly after the site said it would be. Much better experience this time and will be returning.Old review (2021) - 2 starsFood was fine but very overpriced. I paid 3.50 for garlic naan and got one small piece! I ordered food for 3 people and when they took my order they didn’t mention how scrawny the order of naan would be! I have ordered from many other Indian places and have never received such a small order of naan. Each entree was $15-$16 and came in a small 16oz plastic container with a 16oz container of barely seasoned basmati rice. In 3 containers we found one whole pistachio, a lemon slice, and no other seasonings. The tandoori chicken was tasty but the chicken tikka masala was very sweet and the lamb vindaloo was a gritty. Very disappointing, I probably would’ve enjoyed this more had it been less expensive, but to spend over $50 on 3 entrees I’d like them to at least taste good and to have enough bread to actually eat the meal.
Liked the paneer masala
The good:The Chicken Korma, Chicken Saag and Baingan Bharta we're delicious and appropriately spiced (both flavor and spicy)The bad:Samosas were the worst part of the meal, would not order those again. They have easy online ordering for both pick up and delivery, great for a take out night!
This delivery is so good! If you’re in Fishtown especially, it arrives piping hot like it was delivered fresh to your table. It’s such a good deal too, you can eat for 2-3 days on an order priced for a single meal. I was gushing to a friend how good this place is and realized I should be posting this online because they deserve the brag!!
It’s AMAZING every time and I order almost once every week. I cannot stay away! The Gobi Manchurian is spicy and delicious and the entrees especially the paneer malai methi are mouth watering good. As a vegetarian it’s hard finding satisfying meals that fully fill you up when out dining. 100% eat here if you want amazing quality Indian food!
Food was amazing. Had the garlic naan, chicken tikka, aloo chaat, vindaloo, and biryani. Only thing with the vindaloo is it tasted a little overspiced
Love their chicken masala and other veggies paneer dishes.
The food here was fantastic. I have eaten the Chicken Tikka, Garlic Naan, Gulab Juman, and Mango Lassi. My food had a great balance of spice at medium, but if you're more sensitive you might want to start lower.
Good stuff I don't normal eat this kinds fold cause I'm more.of a steak guy but it was a friend's bday. I actually thought the food was really good and I am happy to try something new thank you so much for expand my horizon
Consistently one of the best Indian places in the city. Be prepared that there may be a long wait to get your food, even for takeout. Worth it though!
