They are terrific! Their samosa chaat, vada pav and Mango lassi are my absolute favorites! Their chaats are the best I've had in Philly, just request them if you want it mild, hot or chatpata! They are very kind, great customer service.
SCRUMPTIOUS. Will definitely be returning.I called ahead for their lunch special (non veg which was chicken Tika and another chicken dish I'm blanking on with rice and....I want to say a flour tortilla but I guess it was labeled as Naan bread....) and The samosa chaat. From the first bite, my tastebuds fell in love. The flavors were electrical. Value out of this world. Would recommend 10/10. My wallet remained in tact and that's always a big plus in my book; I consider this spot a STEAL.Between you and me, I do wish I got more meats in the lunch special but that being said, I'll come back and pay proper full price for a big portion. Or just come back for the chaats.
I used to get food from here often in college, and it was well-worth the price. The food was flavorful and within budget. I’ve had it a few times since then and it was still okay, but stopped because of covid. Yesterday was the first time since covid that I went and got food from here for my family.Let me tell you, it was absolutely disappointing and a complete waste of money. Our items were either medium spicy or spicy, but they all lacked any flavor or spice. We didn’t even finish a good amount because it didn’t taste good and felt like a disservice to our taste buds.A few of the more notable issues:1) chutneys were runny like water. Especially the green chutney - so doluted it was transparent and you could literally just see water, devoid of green color, in some areas in the container2) the pani for the pani puri was flavorless and all the masala was at the bottom. If you’ve had quality pani puri, or even some from here back in the day, you’d know it’s supposed to be mixed well3) every item lacking flavor and spice. Was very bland4) wraps were a soggy mess and crime to food5) they don’t know how old their refrigerated products are. I asked how old the rasmalai is, and they said they don’t know, it cones from the factory and they replace every 15 days. Even homemade rasmalai we throw out if not eaten in 3 days, and they keep their’s for 15 DAYS! And even if it comes from a factory, you should be able to obtain the manufacturing date at the very least.Overall, Desi Chaat House has lost its touch for me and my family. There was a time when we’d look forward to it and especially make trips into the city to get it, but we won’t be doing that anymore. It’s quite a shame to see such a lauded establishment go down in quality.
I don't think I will go again it's all microwave food I wish it was better than what we had. The prices are not tht reasonable for the quality of food.
Used to work around here, would stop by for lunch and the food here is delicious. The chaats and lunch specials are pretty good. Great location too!
I don't know any place else in the northeastern US that has this many kinds of chaat. Chaat is a variety of Indian snacks/light meals, there's a lot of different kinds mostly based on fried breads or potatoes, and often with a yogurt-based sauce. I had the owner recommend something based on what I eat, and it was great. The place is upbeat and informal.
No doubt they are one of the very good food spots for Desi food in Philly. The lady in is very nice and helpful. I am the regular customer and I do try out their food items regularly, and so far I am not disappointed from the quality and the quantity of the food. If you are in town their food is definitely a must-try
I’ve never had a bad experience here. Great food, Always!!Highly recommended.
The Biryani is amazing had a great time taking to the lady who works there
