Today was my first time having the Crust Vegan experience. I really liked the vegan Pecan pie pop tart. The blueberry lemon cheesecake was pretty good, too. The consistency was pretty decent. I wasn't a big fan of the crust.? The cookie was good. I would like to try without the icing. The bakery was airy and cozy. The staff was friendly.I would go again, especially to try a different vegan pop tart flavor.?
? After lunch we went across the street to Crust, a Vegan bakery across the street with strict covid-safety standards. Huge plexiglass at the front counter, only 3 customers allowed in at a time and you must wear a mask. We got the peanut butter chocolate pretzel brownie and 2 different kinds of chocolate chip cookie sandwiches. We took these home and all were mucho delicioso!?? Overall, my mouth was very happy today!
My daughter has been buying me a cake from your bakery for the past 4 years. I usually get the chocolate because I love chocolate but this year I said ok I will get a different flavor since everyone else is not a chocolate lover, I chose the pistachio cake with raspberry filling what a bad idea that was. The cake was so sweet I mean sugar sweet the only thing that had a flavor was the raspberry jam I felt so bad because I couldn’t eat it & no one else liked it I had to throw away the cake I couldn’t even fake it. Emailed them this 2 days they never responded horrible customer service
Crust is the absolute best!! Hands down the most amazing baked goods - both in taste and appearance!! They are always coming up with new creations and flavors of treats, it’s exciting to go and see what they have! The staff is always kind and helpful, and the business is ethical and treats it’s employees well!! We need more local businesses like this!!!
The desserts always taste amazing and the staff is super friendly and helpful! My friends bought me a cake from here and we all thought that it was amazing.
Pretty decent vegan bakery. I would love to give it a higher rating except I've been completely distracted with the poor customer service both times I've visited. Both times, the checkout process has the cashier ask how you'd like to tip as she is controlling the touch screen when finishing checkout. Now this is absolutely understandable with the pandemic. But I think there could be some thought put into how this shifts the "tipping" dynamic. I have been and continue to be someone that feels 20% is the minimum amount you can tip someone. But when the process is changed, and the cashier presents me with the options and asks how I'd like to proceed, it feels a little off.The second time I visited, this above check out process made the experience a bit odd again. But on top of that, I waited outside for 5-10 after 8 am while the cashier sat on her phone behind the counter. After 10 minutes, a fellow customer opened the door and asked the cashier if the bakery was open. She confirmed they were. The customer flipped the "Closed" sign to "Open" and we all went inside.I understand the pandemic has been hard on wait staff. But is it commonplace now that customer service is a thing of the past? As the customer, I feel as though I am inconveniencing this person when I visit this bakery to pay for their goods.Just my two cents. I'll of course continue to visit and be polite, maybe these are just a few off occasions I happened to catch.
Hands down THE best vegan desserts and pastries anywhere, and I’ve eaten them all over the world. A wonderful and compassionate group of people run this cute bakery. I HIGHLY recommend visiting them if you’re in Philadelphia - vegan or not!
I used to live very close to crust. Thank god I moved away, I was spending way too much money. That aside. I MISS LIVING CLOSE TO THERE! They have the best vegan pastries in the city, they TREAT THEIR EMPLOYEES WELL! They donate, they are involved, they are one of a kind. They opened my eyes to another great spot (down north pizza - sometimes they do pop ups at crust). Support this business if you like treats!
I love Crust vegan bakery so much! From their incredible ethics, to their delicious treats, they are always at the top of my list. We had one of their cakes at our wedding celebration, but just in general I love everything they offer- especially the brookie and their cookies!
I can't believe I haven't reviewed Crust before today!! What was I thinking?? I love Crust. The vegan baked goods are absolutely unreal, and the hospitality and friendliness of the staff is out of this world. I've worked in food service, and I know you have to truly and genuinely love your job and clientele (and be treated well behind the scenes) in order to provide such all-star service. The location, the people, and the food is so bright and shiny and incredible. Their custom cakes are always impeccable, and I drive all the way from South Philly to visit. My best friend is moving to Manayunk from DC, and while I'm thrilled to have her closer to me, I'm also just stoked to have a reason to go to Crust in Manayunk more often! Don't tell her I said that!!
