My friend and I went to City Winery last night for the 6pm Macy Gray show. I'm surprised to read some of the reviews on the site. We had a wonderful time. We chose to have dinner in the dining area prior to the show and then had drinks at our table during the show. I think the staff did a great job of checking on tables and at the same time not obstructing the show. It's a difficult thing to do given the set-up, but they managed just fine. The apps we had in the dining area were perfect. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Macy and City Winery!!!
City Winery, a cute relaxing spot that’s not right in all the center city hustle and bustle. The wine flights are a great option if your pairing it with some shareable appetizers. I ordered the shrimp pasta and it was pretty salty; didn’t get a chance to really enjoy it as much do to the sodium. However, the fig and pear pizza was sweet and delicious. I haven’t been here much and I’m sure I’ll be back for more cauliflower !! The ambiance is amazing and the staff was super friendly.
This spot has the potential to be a great venue, but currently it is a total mess. Server told us that our table was at the back so we couldn’t have a server because they were short staffed. Waited at the bar and got snapped at by the bartender because they only provided drinks to servers. Explained the situation to no avail. So, basically, our table couldn’t get drinks because we didn’t have a server. Went upstairs but wasn’t able to order there either. Be aware that if you don’t purchase tickets for a table up front, you might not be able to purchase drinks.
This was my first time coming here for a show and I really enjoyed myself. We came to see Brian McKnight for my sister's birthday and he was AMAZING!! The food and drinks were pretty good. I had the fried chicken sandwich with fries. My sister had the wings and truffle fries.smaller menu on show nights but still a nice variety. I definitely plan on coming for another show.
Su was our server and she was amazing! Ask for her! We also were able to get our first glasses of complimentary wine from a wine tasting event.Highly recommend!
I really love the venue itself. The only problem I have is that the room where they hold the live shows is way to congested. The tables are to close to one another and we were literally sitting on top of each other. Even if COVID was not a factor people should be able to sit comfortably apart from others. Please try to fix this. Other than that I had a really nice time.
Not really a winery. Kind of like Apple Bee's with live music. Wasn't expecting a decent beer list and they proved me right. The band was great and the place looks nice. So many better options in Philadelphia than this place.
Service was fabulous. The flights are so good! And the poke bowl was mouthwateringly delicious! We will be back next time we visit Philly! ❤️
I had a great experience at City Winery in my last visit. I along with my family attended a General Admission Show, The Lost Tapes which was a good show by the way. The food was good although it lacked flavor. I ordered the City Winery Burger and fries. When the food came out it was cooked as I ordered and in good timing. The drinks however took a while to come out. We had a server named Julia and she made sure we had everything we needed. I did see that the male server on the shift had been doing his best to accommodate the guests he was taking care of. He was polite from what i could see and moved urgently to take care of his guest. I witnessed a guest getting upset with the server for his drink taking too long to come to the table. The male server did his best to make sure the other guest was happy and was met by rude comments from the guest and a threat to harm the server, who in my opinion did his best in the situation that he was in and walked away from a situation that could have been extremely badIt would be a shame to see him lose his job over what occurred. There were so many people in the show and 3 servers who did a great job to keep everything running smoothly. Please hire more people to work shows like this. My family and I will be back in the future.Overall a great experience!!!!!!!!
Went to see a friend's band and they sounded amazing! The Loft is great, excellent sound and a chill vibe. The venue needs to improve it's menu though. The only vegan option is a $14 hummus platter that is super weak- not enough hummus, not enough flavor (no lemon or oil) and the stuff around the hummus was weak too. 3 super thin crackers and some lightly pickled veggies. C'mon y'all a full container of hummus costs $3! We also got an Impossible Burger that was super dry and plain, no vegan mayo is offered and the burger just comes with a thin slice of tomato and a leaf of lettuce. We had to resort to sacrificing our meager fry ketchup to make the burger palatable, and the server didn't check up on us so that was that. For $17 maybe don't skimp on ketchup and throw in some pickles??Just saying, I think this place is well funded and fully capable of adding one or two decent options for plant based eaters in a major city like Philly. You're almost there! I find far better options for better prices all over the city, give me a reason to want to eat there too!
