Nice "traditional jazz place ". Food presentation and quality was great and memorable. Waiter was really attentive and pleasant. Parking is next door but paid $$ I guess normal for center city...I would recommend to try, quite a different experience, enjoyable.
What a great Jazz Bar! The band in the picture were amazing and pleasant to talk to after their performance. Drinks were perfect - Cubre Libre and Jack & Coke! Great bartender! Great atmosphere!
Amazing music, atmosphere, and late night menu. Loved the cheesesteak eggs rolls and shoestring fries. What an awesome nightcap to my birthday celebration!
3 course dinner with live music was spot on! Great atmosphere and amazing jazz. Will be back again soon!
Priscilla and the staff was great and the pre Valentines show was all that. Thanks for inviting us back. The Wallace's.
First saw this cafe a year ago and finally went in recently. Very pleasant at first. Over the course of an hour and a half my date and I had one of the most uncomfortable dining experiences either of us have ever had. People constantly gave us dirty looks or just stared, the server was condescending and disappeared for so long I asked a manager for the bill. The server didn’t tell us that gratuity was included, so I ending up tipping 40% for a few glasses of wine. As we were leaving I saw the manager I had talked to pointing at us and talking to customers and workers as we were walking out of the door. I honestly couldn’t believe it because we had been very kind and we’re excited to be there. We were dressed very nicely and enjoyed the music. I have no idea if we had done something to offend. All in all, we were disappointed and felt very unwelcome.
Went for one drink and stayed for the incredible jazz band on a Friday night. Very low key, candle lit, classy vibe. You need resos if you want a table tho. I stood by the bar and it was still lovely .
Chris's jazz cafe is amazing- great vibe and music and definitely an essential in Philadelphia.I would give it 5 of 5 stars but they left me an unusual voice message telling me that it was not normal to make a reservation just for myself, on a Saturday night, and wanted to make sure if I was going to be someone. It hurt my feelings and I was definitely feeling lonely and it was Valentines weekend to top it off. I don't see anything wrong with going in by myself to enjoy some jazz.
So I will start by saying the band was amazing and the hostess was very nice. We had a nice server by the name of Jordan, whom was attentive AT FIRST. He started off strong but we ended with being neglected for a lot of the evening. Now we prepaid for the 3 course meals online which totaled to 178.00. Which the food was NOT worth that. But it’s whatever. We order a few drinks throughout the night, and then the bill comes. Between my husband and myself we spent $56 on drinks. After they added gratuity to the bill, the total bill was $96!!! So I’m confused and infuriated because we didn’t get $30 tip service and also they claimed they charged a 20% gratuity on the PREPAID TICKETS FROM ONLINE then charged ANOTHER 20% on the drinks that we ordered. That was absolutely terrible. We ended up spending almost $300 in that hole in the wall. That’s what we pay at Ruth Chris not a hole in the wall with very small portions and not so amazing food. This system is complete robbery and it is NOT stated beforehand that you get charged 20% gratuity twice. My husband and I will never return and we will also not recommend this establishment to a soul. Getting over on people only creates karma for yourself and your business.
I really enjoyed myself amazing food and music
