I have been here a few times in the past few years and I am glad to report that it appears they have found their groove! Chestnut Hill Brewery is a neighborhood gem that is nestled into The Market at the Fareway! I decided on a flight to taste a few beers that I haven't had and they were delicious and had depth to them! I am pleased to report the good neighborhood vibe is cool and the service was particularly good on a busy Friday night!
Their beers will definitely please any crowd. While their indoor dining area is a bit cramped at times there is plenty of overflow to ther patio area. This easy to miss brewery is definitely worth a stop along a bar crawl.
Good beer, pretty good Covid safety precautions.
Wonderful, wood-fired pizza with the freshest ingredients. Great wines, enjoyed a smooth Cabernet. Craft beers are great but I prefer a glass of wine. Great industrial decor.
This new Center City diner could fill a need for same left by loss of Little Pete's and Midtowns. Totally and very nicely renovated space. One negative was that there is one doorway without vestibule or other wind block. On cold day, the open door makes restaurant very uncomfortable. I had simple eggs, bacon, homefries and rye toast w small fruit salad. Everything was good and made as requested. Other diner had a turkey sandwich w cole slaw and Russian dressing (They call it "Rachel" which is made w hot Turkey and Swiss). It was not on the menu but graciously made. The sandwich was only OK. Problems were that Turkey was COLD, cole slaw was very wet and messy and there was almost no Russian Dressing (which would have been too much based on the cole slaw). Fries were good. Service was fine but overall needs some organization. Host was pleasant but seemingly inexperienced. He seated people at snails pace despite MANY open clean tables, he left whole cakes hanging over the edge of the cashier's desk while he slowly did other tasks and we watched as some customers almost knocked them over. Meanwhile, he left a large black box of dishes and silverware precariously perched on a chair. Shortly thereafter, the entire thing crashed onto the floor. Took 10 minutes or more before anyone came to clean up the dishes.
Cool beer brewing company in Philadelphia. We stopped here after an ice festival in Germantown. Nice bonfires at each outdoor tables. Wood fire pizza and beer with lot of chit chat. Had a good time stopping by here.
Hidden gem. The IPA Goosey. Best I’ve ever enjoyed. Another great find with Dr Beer?
Loving this new venue!! Finally a place in Chestnut Hill with tons of vegan options! They also have many vegetarian dishes with cheese, as well as meat/fish add-ins available, so they really have something for everyone. Free wifi too!!! The 'design-your-own' options for salad and fresh pasta are awesome! Service was very friendly and prices are reasonable for this neighborhood. Currently they have tea, french press coffee and cookies; all they need now is more desert options and they'll have it all!
Pleasant surprise, the beers are nice and the pizza and pasta terrific.
Ambiance is nice, the industrial chic was a little overdone. Friendly service. Beer is good, unfortunately pizza was dreadful. Perhaps it's limited to their margherita pie, but I would avoid that part if the menu.
