SO expensive for very meh desserts. Recently got cake from here and was shocked by how much it cost and then how low quality it was. Ended up throwing most of it out. Other family owned, local bakeries to check out way before resorting to this one.
We used to love this place but all the good stuff the were known for, the got rid of so we don't bother anymore. The used to have glazed donuts filled with cream and strawberry and they had like a chocolate mousse that had a hard shell. Both were amazing but they no longer have either. Staff is pretty rude and everything is overpriced. Definitely better bakeries in the area!!
Visiting Philly got a chance to visit Carlo's Bakery and brought a couple of treat everything was delicious got the strawberry rainbow cake, cookies and some lobster tails that I regret not getting more of definitely visiting again!
The crumb cake was so disappointing for sure - stale, dry, not enough coffee in Philadelphia to make it delicious. I'm sure other items are delicious, but stay away from the crumb cake. (your local ShopRite hands down better) Purchased 2/3/2022 - my son was kind enough to bring items for dessert on Thursday night dinner, he called me from the Philadelphia location, I said, Coffee Cake would be great after, our pasta and shrimp family dinner...... lol, I had to make a quick batch of chocolate chip cookies for the family.
I came in here hoping to see Buddy. I walked in and shouted "Where's the Cake Boss?" while patronizingly slapping some of the younger fellas in the joint on the face (it's a Jersey thing).They told me he was working on a really big cake project in the back and I couldn't see him today, but I got a cannoli that would've knocked my socks right out of Yankees stadium.

Visited May 2021. This is my second time and I love it! Always great service never had an issue. This is the one closest to the Rocky statue.
The lobster tails were great! Crunchy and delicious filling. The cheesecake was… eh. I didn’t realize this was a “popular” place as we were just walking by. The display was really pretty with their rainbow cakes. Staff wasn’t extra friendly or anything, just *there*.Everything was SUPER expensive! We only bought those items (plus a coffee) and spent like $30. I thought that was nuts!

stopped in from Ohio and this was my 4th time at this location and they never disappoint
