I would say I’ve had pretty “meh” experiences here. The atmosphere is nice. The coffee is alright— there are definitely better coffee shops nearby. The treats look absolutely beautiful, but the few I’ve had have been $8-$9 and aren’t that tasty. The egg and cheese was not for me— so much mayo on it that when you bit into the bread it seeped out flooding your mouth with mayo. If you really like mayo, I recommend this for you.Overall, the atmosphere is nice, the staff is nice and I haven’t disliked coming here. But I would choose other local places for delicious coffee & baked goods.
It was to my surprise that I stumbled across this place. The atmosphere for coffee food and or coffee is great! There are good amount of sitting. The desserts are solid. I had their mushroom sandwiches and it tasted great! If you need a chill place to maybe hangout or do some works, this is the place!
Overpriced average café. Their coffee is one of my least favorite I’ve tried in Philly. For the first time in my life I saw an iced coffee with foam on top. The dessert selection is wide. The interior is spacious and there’s plenty of comfortable seatings. It is a good option if you don’t care about coffee but you want to hang out with your friends or work on your laptop.
Roaster coffee mousse cake was okay. Vietnamese jelly-like mousse with vanilla cake and a chocolate cookie base. No dine in but apparently they will start allowing seating this week. We ordered the milk tea latte but it was a coffee latte.. pretty disappointed about the drink
This was a gift for friends. I was so upset that the handle broke off on my way home and the cake was not perfect when I delivered it. I assume the taste was great based on the cakes I've had here before. But I do think that for better customer experiences, you guys need to get some big enough bags that are easier to handle, or get a sturdier carrier box to match your beautiful and creative world-class cakes.***btw, I handled the cake very carefully by hand while riding my bike back, but the handle broke off at an unavoidable bump when I was almost there... Anyways, my friend told me the cake tasted very good. So I add one start but still want to advocate for better & easier delivery options for customers living west of downtown who don't have a car.
Was pleasantly surprised to find this place! Coffee was good and the dessert assortment was on point. Service was very attentive and friendly. You can tell these people care about the overall experience of their customers. I enjoyed the atmosphere and would like to check out brunch sometime.
Stopped in on a Friday morning for a cup of coffee. There was one barista working who was literally running around fulfilling orders. Took a few minutes to get my order. After getting my order I promptly dumped salt instead of sugar into it, because there was a salt and pepper shaker front and center on the table. There didn’t appear to be any milk cream or half & half in the same area with the salt and sugar.
This matcha cake was amazing! My partner bought it for me as my birthday cake and every bite was amazing.
*HIGHLY RECOMMEND*If you're looking for a nice cute cafe with aesthetically pleasuring dessert that's as delicious as it looks, this is the place. This cafe in south Philly is a great place to stop by after a meal or even to work or relax. Cake and Joe specializes in light mousse cakes in very unique presentations. They have unique seasonal flavors as well. The cakes were not super sweet, pretty light but full of flavor.Coffee mousse cake - Definitely full of coffee flavor. I really like the cake base that goes well with the creamy mousse. Mousse is fairly light but rich.Passion fruit mousse cake - tangy and sweet. There's different layers within the cake, each with a different consistency and concentration fo flavors. This makes each bite different but well balanced. The ring graham like cracker is a great contrast to the mousse.Grapefruit calpis - this yogurt like drink reminds me of the Japanese calpico drink. Very refreshing and taste very grapefruitty but maybe a bit too sweet to my liking. A bit less sugar and it would be perfect. I would like to try their other flavors.*VERDICT*Definitely would go again if I'm in the area*
