We met people here for a second round before getting dinner and it was worth the stop. Very clean and not that busy for a Friday evening. The German beer was exactly what I was expecting. The perogies were delicious and filling. The fried cheese curds were also very tasty. If you don't care for beer, the Long Islands that one of us had was strong and tasted great
I am from out of town but am always on the lookout for a quality German beer on tap. I ordered an Einbecker Pilsner, but was in disbelief when it was served to me in a plastic cup. I was told by the bartender that a glass was not an option. Are you kidding me? This is how they chose to serve a world class beer? What a joke (note: I was also charged more than the menu price). Avoid this place if you respect German beer because they obviously don't. Disgraceful.
Great place in center city to grab a beer and meet some friends. Solid beer and draft list including many interesting foreign imports. The buffalo cauliflower app, bratwurst, and pretzels were all delicious. We sat at one of their outside picnic tables on a nice day. Service was great. No complaints, will definitely return next time I'm in town.
Great food and beer selection! Owner and staff are really nice
First time visiting and very impressed with the staff. Our waitress was very sweet and patient while explaining the mostly German menu options including chef specials. The Beer selection was not as large as other restaurants that I've visited; but we decided on a Belgian Ale and a German Helles which were both excellently paired with an order of Bru fries, which had a combo of cheese and a spicy sausage on top. I opted for the sausage platter which included a bratwurst and a spicy fennel option. These were accompanied by a side of Kraut and mashed potatoes and two types of mustard.Everything was so delicious with generous portions!Great food, Great Beer, Great service in a very congenial atmosphere right in Center City!
Server was so sweet but the hostess was rude and didn't acknowledge our reservation which was supposed to be outside and she sat us inside.
Nothing about this place is Genuine German, besides the beer. The pretzel tasted like something you would get at a mall, came with some “cheese” which resembled some gritty-cheese that you microwave to get hot. The ladies that work there wear these suspenders, which is cute, but it’s really a giant sports bar with good German beers.
We showed up at 8:20pm to a half empty bar. Asked to be seated for drinks only. The hostes asked us to sit "at the bar". we walked along the bar -- no empty spaces. so we sat at a high table right next to the bar. (One of many empty tables. We also don't consider high tables precious real estate in a bar.)After we ordered drinks, the hostes came over to ask if we ordered food. We explained the situation, but she played dumb without actually telling us to leave. So after some increasingly heated superficial discussion we had enough of it and just left. Frustrating experience...Please, if you don't want to seat people just for drinks, just be honest and open about it and send them away. It saves everybody time. ?♂️
Bru is absolutely phenomenal. Restaurants has amazing food and great beer to match. Staff and the owner were so friendly and attentive too. Can’t wait to go back
We were seated near the front door on a December evening. It's 45 degrees out & they propped the door open. Asked multiple times to close door & they refused saying the rest of the business was too hot. The waitress was wearing her coat for most of the time. Service was slow. Didn't bring utensils when our dinner was served. Many of the beers - on tap & bottled - were not available. Was here 3 yrs ago when it first opened. Service has gone down hill
