Blue Corn - Drool Warnings! This has been on my hit list for a few years now since I'm rarely in South Philly. Don't let the kitschy WAY-over decorated seasonal decor scare you. ? It was a combo of St Patrick Day, Valentine's Day, Christmas and Cinco De Mayo. It did make the place look kind of tacky but extra pieces of tinsel are not going to stop margaritas and tacos getting into my belly. ?? They have a fairly extensive menu for lunch and I was quite tempted by the sea bass ceviche (but didn't order it). I got the Passion Fruit margarita .... when it comes with a chili salt rim you know you it is going to be outstanding! I got the braised chicken pibil tacos.... expertly seasoned and love how there were all kinds of veggie accompaniments like cucumbers, grilled spring onion and pickled chilies.? I can take some heat so loved adding the chilies to the tacos. Like a little 4th of July party in my mouth! The portion size was perfect. The plating was just-oh-so pretty! Service was friendly and attentive. My mouth was quite happy! ?

Food was nasty but good drinks, chips and salsa

The food was delicious and was well priced. We ordered the tacos (beef, pork, and chicken) and they came out timely and were amazing. Waiters were polite and attentive.

The food was really amazing. When we reached the restaurant, it seems to be a very small place. We were able to get the table very soon. But I will suggest book the table before going there. The whole staff was very efficient and helpful. Once again the food was really amazing. Definitely going to go again when back to Philadelphia.

Good to know Blue Corn is still there. We haven’t lived in Philadelphia since 2017 but this was one of the best Mexican restaurants at the time. I’m going back there one day. Great food and an excellent margarita, friendly atmosphere in a small comfortable space. I grew up in Texas and this was as close to home as I could get. Getting homesick now... and hungry.

Excellent guest-centered restaurant. They did check everyone’s proof of vaccination, the tables were pleasantly apart as opposed to some other packed restaurants in Philly, and everyone was wearing their masks properly all the time. They were exceptionally polite, attentive and friendly, looked like a great team, and made our dinner a great experience! I would recommend to everyone. (If they have the fish/seafood soup special on the day you visit, don’t miss it!)

This place is great! My friend and I came here on a busy Saturday afternoon while strolling the Italian market. They had seats available right outside, not too close to the crowd. It was a great spot in the market to have lunch. Their food was very good and service was attentive and friendly

I’ve been coming to blue corn for a long long time (way before the renovations when it was a much simpler taqueria). I haven’t been since the pandemic but I hope they haven’t changed. Their execution, ingredients, service are all top notch and I’ll be going back real soon

Some of the best mexican food in south philly, a bit pricier but overall the presentation and perspective on mexican food was refreshingly different from other south philly mexican spots. Also there are a bunch of 6-9$ shots of good mezcal and a great selection of mexican beers, a first in my case for philly. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner.

If you're looking for Mexican in the Italian market, this is the place.Everything on the menu is delicious. If you're feeling adventurous, grab something with huitlacoche. The space is small and tables are limited so reservations are highly recommended and camping at your table for hours after your meal isn't a good idea.
