We came here with our 9 month old son, our friends and their 14 month old daughter for an early dinner. The staff was so nice and accommodating. The food was delicious. The drinks were phenomenal. The decor and atmosphere are lovely. Highly recommend! We will be back!
Loved the Kickstarter breakfast sandwich. My wife had the quiche which was excellent! She says they have the best tea in Philly. Took home some amazing croissants.
Went here on Mother's day. I love the ambience. It's a boutique cafe. I ordered squid in ink ( not a fan of it). My husband had their signature mushroom sandwich. Portions are really big. We also had honey lavender latte ( didn't have lavender flavor)
What is it with Philadelphia restaurants and pretentious, deceptive brand names? Hygge in Fairmont, for example, doesn't serve a morsel of Danish food. Now comes Bloomsday, a bistro whose moniker evokes "Ulysses" and whose menu features neither Dublin specialties, Irish/Jewish fusion nor any entrees Leopold Bloom would enjoy (gorgonzola sandwich, butter fried pork kidney, fried cod roe). Is this the work of a culturally illiterate marketing whiz? Clueless owners? Do these guys even know when Bloomsday is? (Sigh.) If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. I'm opening Zorba's Aegean Grill: An organic, raw food, dim sum house and cruelty-free dirt bar. No toxic pleasure from OUR kitchen. And absolutely no dancing. See you there.
I have wanted to go to Bloomsday for years and finally we were able to. Our server was so so kind and sweet. He really made our whole experience shine! The pasties, of course (Green Engine is a regular haunt), were second to none. The salmon brunch dish was incredible - could not get enough of the house cured gravadlax. Will definitely be back for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
This adorable cafe is surprisingly bigger on the inside than you’d think. Cozy atmosphere, extensive wine list, friendly staff, and thoughtful menu. Great vibe for a long, catchup brunch or cute date.
After two very impressive happy hour experiences (gimlet, tinned fish of the day, rich burger, chips & dip, and hummus), I returned with my dad for a surprise dinner. Again, Bloomsday did not disappoint. My favorite atmosphere in Queen Village. We ordered the fish & chips and wings. Looking forward to returning again.
I recently hosted a birthday party at Bloomsday (after frequenting since they opened) and had such a wonderful experience. Patrick helped me plan a special evening, from food to decor. Their staff is accommodating & lovely. The food is always sublime - simple, thoughtful & delicious. What I love the most about Bloomsday is that no matter your mood it always feels appropriate. A little hungover? Great breakfast sandwich & coffee. Something big to celebrate? A place you can dress up and go all out. It's inviting in all seasons!
Went here for our company holiday party. Patrick took excellent care of us with great wine and beer recommendations, top notch service, and the meal was fabulous!
My wife and I have been going to Bloomsday almost weekly for the past year +. We keep going back because the experience has been unmatched by other restaurants and bars. I haven't once ordered a drink or something off the menu that wasn't delicious and I try to mix up often, or have whatever they're recommending. There's basically nothing you could ask for that wouldn't come out fantastic. The staff there are professional, personable, fun and well versed. From the owners to the servers to the bar tenders and bar backs, you couldn't ask for a nicer group of people. Consistently excellent, to me there isn't a place in the city that I'd rather give my money to or a place I'd rather spend my free time. 10/10 highly recommend.
