Truly a West Philly gem. I’ve gone quite a few times and each time has been delicious. They have some of the best bagels and sandwiches in Philly.
Great bagels, some of the best in the city. They even have the elusive pumpernickel everything bagel that's hard to find outside of Jersey. Good selection of specialty cream cheeses. They have a good selection of lunch sandwiches on bagels as well.
Great bagels, and cute ambience with four or five tables set up on the street outside to eat at. Bagels are very tasty, as is the cream cheese (although they do put on a little too much for my taste).
Easily the best bagels in Philly, and there's no comparison. Bart's makes classic bagels without trying to do the artisan nonsense you see elsewhere. For this former New Yorker who's been to just about every bagel place in the city, nothing comes close.
Great sandos. If you want a solid kickstart of flavor to your day go here. Keep an eye out for their weekly specials you can only really find on their direct website.Challah bread bakes are king from these folks as well.SUMMER TIP: Grab a can of plain San pellegrino to bubble it up their lemonades!
We've been going to Bart's Bagels almost from the time they opened. It was a popular breakfast spot with a dine-in option back then. Located on a section of Lancaster Avenue in West Powelton, Bart's is one of the handful of businesses that are helping rejuvenate the stalled business in the area. During the pandemic they shifted to a pickup/takeout only operation, and have been very popular in this mode as well. We've found the food to be of consistently good taste and quality. Having placed at least one order every week for the last year, I've only been disappointed once when I was handed someone else's order that was labeled as mine. The order completion time is impressive. I've almost never had a late order, and most orders are ready in under 15 minutes. When the weather is nice you can enjoy your bagel or coffee on the limited outdoor seating as well.A couple tips:1. Always order from the Bart's Bagels website on Square Site, all the other delivery services will charge you and the business extra fees.2. Get in their mailing list. They often do drop-off orders for other neighborhoods, particularly around Jewish holidays.Hope you enjoy your food and drink here as much as we have!
Greatest bagels in Philadelphia. The pumpernickel everything is particularly fantastic. Their bagel sandwiches are also quite impressive. Any time I am getting bagels for a group of people, I order from Bart's. Highly recommend!
My first time and it was great. It's in my neighborhood and I just past it by all the time because I wasn't to fond of the area. But they have a place to sit outside so I sat outside and they back on the premises which is dope. A lol more than I expected to spend but well worth it. Great place.
Nice addition to The Avenue! Just be careful when ordering online, I tried to order lunch on a Monday, they were actually closed but the system processed the order for Tuesday morning. I'm sure it said somewhere that it wouldn't be ready until the next day, but I didn't notice it until it was too late.
Their breakfast sandwiches are excellent and delivery is always very quick. Definitely try the pepper jelly on a bacon egg and cheese.
