We had a nice early dinner for four here. Very good pasta dishes and BYOB is always a good thing though they do have a liquor license.

3.5 starsWe went to Ambrosia for brunch and here is what our experience was like. To start off, we were given some bread (in this case focaccia) along with some sundried tomato preserves. What do I say? It is the best bread I have eaten at a restaurant in Philly and the preserves made from sundried tomatoes, olive oil and capers were equally good. Next, we ordered watermelon gazpacho since it was hot outside and we wanted something cold to drink. This came topped with some goat cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers and tasted refreshing. Feeling content we thought moving directly to the mains would be a good idea, considering our small appetite, and ordered the ravioli with fava beans and the mafaldine with kale pesto. The ravioli was absolutely delicious with a brown butter sauce and some fava beans on top. I would highly recommend this dish. The mafaldine, however, was very salty and a huge letdown. We let our server know about this once we were done and he took very positively which we appreciated. Finally, we ordered tiramisu and pistachio panna cotta for dessert. The pistachio panna cotta was lovely but it’s consistency was more like a mousse instead of a panna cotta (it was missing the classic panna cotta jiggle). Nevertheless, it was still quite scrumptious. The tiramisu, however, was completely forgettable. Skip ordering that for you will find way better tiramisus in the city.Overall, decent food and excellent service but it can be a little heavy on the pocket.
The food and experience is just really good, every time. Our favorites were the Brussel sprouts and the crispy gnocchi.
The Brussels and gnocchi were fabulous. All of the desserts were wonderful as well!

Great find in an area with not a lot of restaurants. Ate outdoor at lunch, and service and food was amazing. Will definitely keep it on my radar. BYOB for those coming for dinner.
