I was in the area looking for breakfast so I decided to come here and the food was ok. For the price the portions that we had were not enough . We aren't greedy ppl it just wasn't enough. It wasn't crowded so that was a plus .
Friday morning July 8th /22 . First time at Amari's ,very nice inside . Beautiful Angel , who's name I dare not misspell ?, she goes by MJ was very warm and her smile WOW . Oh yeah breakfast was good ,I'll be back .?✌️
I always rave about this place and whenever I’m in town I always pay a visit. It’s a hit or miss when they’re actually open but the food never disappoints! No pork products!
Ate here today. We were excited to try this place due to having a strong taste for Soul food. The corn bread and candy yams were delicious however the rest of the meal was not. The rib was mostly fat, the collard greens flavor were drowned out by the overdose of salt, the mac and cheese was not freshly made it seemed to had been reheated from the night before because it had an overnight fridge weird after taste, and they're were no fountain drinks with refills. Overall not a great experience and the menu is overpriced for food that does not taste great. I'm so sorry for this review but improvement comes from honest feedback.
My first time coming here and today the jazz band was here. I found out that they are here every other Sunday it was a nice addition to the Easter Sunday brunch wasn't to loud just nice. Now the food I had steak 2 eggs and home fries and the home fries had peppers and onions. My plate was only $12 was it worth it yes! And I had a side of grits they are known for grits did they live up to the hype they sure did. I have no complaints. They bathroom was clean the servers was nice they came and checked on my table several times. You also can get dinner.
I feel a little guilty reviewing this place as I am a semi regular. However, I don't know anyone there personally and my review is based on my experience. I ran into a gem one morning when absolutely staving I found them on Google maps and ordered the fish & grits. For those of you with confused looks take my advice and go get you some and you will realize what southerners have known all along. They were made for each other. Amari's took this classic and made it special. 2 pieces of perfectly fried fish seasoned to the "T", except one time that s$#@ was salty as hell. What did I ever do to you for you to feed me that? But I have forgiven them and gone back. Not a five star because I tried their short ribs once, ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! EVER AGAIN!!! just hand me fat on a bone and charge me $20 why don't you. I know some people who like fatty meat and say that is where all the flavor is, I'm not one of them. I like my ribs meaty and lean toss on some more bbq sauce to make up for the loss of flavor from fat please. So I will only ever buy fish and grits here for now, they are something special.
My friends and I went for brunch and really enjoyed ourselves. BYOB.The shrimp and grits were AMAZING! The owner was very cool and came out to make sure that we liked the food. Highly recommend!
LOVED IT If you live in Philadelphia it’s a nice place, comfortable not packed together. The fish I had was so well cooked, flaky and flavorful!! Grits were yummy ? and service was outstanding. I highly recommend this place.UPDATE: Took my mom and went back today, and the food is still outstanding! Seafood omelette, grits and scrapple. For those of us who know, I didn’t need ANY salt or butter . Eric who works there is a treasure! Mom says it feels like home
I’m here again this morning n forgot to leave a review from 2 weeks ago. That was my first visit in which I ordered Swai fish n grits. I was craving the grits so bad so I chose to patron this establishment… I was not disappointed! I’ve never had the Swai before but I was glad I gave it a try! The grits were not too rich n I really enjoyed it! Now I’m back to try something else. I’ll be back to leave another review I’m sure! Thank you!!!
Great Service Great Vibe The house band was on point. And the food was excellent!! Owner came out for a chat has some wonderful things coming down the pipe!!! I can’t wait.
