Let’s start with the vibe. This an old school diner with a 50s theme, exactly what you would see in a period piece. I went here with my grandmother for a 4th of July breakfast. It was full so the service was a bit slow. It took 40 minutes to get our order off eggs, toast, and pancakes. That being said it tasted good and it’s located next to a supermarket so it’s a pretty convenient place to go before weekend grocery shopping.:) a nice two for one car trip.
Jem is the place to go for breakfast in the East Norriton area and beyond. There are two counters, many tables and booths. Very friendly waitresses who will keep your coffee cup filled. The 50's decor is interesting, and the tabletops have nostalgic 50's trivia Q & A on them. Food is the standard breakfast staples which is good and reasonably priced. Famous for their "Scrapple Stix's" and Bo's sausage gravy over biscuits. Come talk sports with the owner Tony who makes the rounds to visit and greet everyone. At this time, it is cash only. $$
Food is very good. A place where everyone is friendly. Plus, they always helped out the Tall Cedars for children with MDA!
Food was mediocre and could find better cost for to quality in the area . Waiter was stressed from a morning rush and couldn’t process her emotions well when asked question about our order and got an attitude which was responded to in kind. She then started slamming stuff down and making snide comments . We hashed it with her and got back to amicable but wouldn’t recommend overall.
Had the opportunity to go have breakfast there over the weekend. Overall Jems food was amazing. Our only dissatisfaction was with the wait staff, our waitress was not very pleasant. Aside from her dirty appearance, she looked less than thrilled to be serving us. I understand everyone isn’t always having a good day. But we were drug into her life’s financial situation by overhearing her complaints about pay or lack there of and her personal health issues. This would deter me and my family from coming back again. food 5/5 service 1/5 ⭐️
The guy running this place is friendly, helpful and seemingly a good dude. He has the same problem all businesses do lately, which is good workers are hard to find and that's unfortunately who your customers have to deal with. I'd go here a 1000 times if his staff was at his level, the few I dealt with weren't.
always a good meal. The owner always stops by the table and greets you. Just a nice friendly local place and always good food!
Foods great and everyone is friendly there
Last time I went there the place was filthy.I was given a cup of coffee with lipstick on it. The food was so awful I didn't eat it. The table was sticky along with the floor. When I sent the coffee and food back & just asked for just new coffee the next cup was just dirty. Don't know how they don't get shut down. AVOID THE PLACE. You get even less than you pay for...
This is the perfect breakfast nook. The best diner-style breakfast-lunch-brunch menu to suit all tastes. The classic bacon egg pancake coffee and hash brown options are there and they're delicious, no worries. The biggest charm of the place is Tony the owner who visits customers at the tables and chats with them about the history of the family owned and operated restaurant. The stories are very genuine and heartwarming. Tony's a storyteller with the food the keeps you coming back for both. I love supporting this local business and recommend it to anyone.
