Soni’s outdid themselves today. I rarely leave reviews, but I felt the need to after the experience we had. I was part of a funeral party that needed a place for lunch. With most of us coming from out of town, we originally had a reservation at another local restaurant, but after waiting outside that establishment for 20 mins after opening was SUPPOSED to happen, we were finally told that they would be unable to open for us. Leaving almost 30 of us sitting in a parking lot with nowhere to eat. We called Soni’s to see if they could possibly accommodate us on short notice…and were welcomed with warm smiles and an entire room to ourselves! Our servers were fantastic and took care of all of us promptly. The food was absolutely cooked perfectly with generous delicious portions. The fact that the staff were able to take such good care of all of us (without a reservation), on such a sad day to begin with…we are very grateful for all of you at Soni’s. Thank you so much for allowing our family and friends to gather! I will definitely be dining here again next time we’re in New Castle!
I have mixed feelings. The food was decent. Not exceptional but pretty good. The staff was wonderful! Everyone was super nice and we never felt forgotten. However my biggest complaint is the music choice. It's Christian rock played loud enough that you can still hear it over conversation. I am all for freedom of religion. Have your beliefs and be proud. However, as someone not in Christianity, it didn't sit well with me. It made me feel kind of unwelcome and uncomfortable.
We met friends for dinner and enjoyed the chicken marsala which was plentiful and good. This restaurant is always busy which is a testament to a good meal.
The food is good, especially the Sambucca pasta. The pizza used to be excellent, but not quite as good in recent months, not sure what changed there. However the BIGGEST strike against it is that there is no bar whatsoever. I don't what the deal is or why they won't just spring for the liquor license after all these years of success but you must always take this into consideration when deciding whether or not to go there. Are you celebrating a special occasion and want to have a good time and a few drinks with your meal? Then Soni's is not the place to do it.
For a 4.5☆ rated restaurant, I was completely disappointed. The hostess was wonderful and that is the only good thing I can say about this restaurant. I will not publicly slam Soni's, but I have to wonder what reviewers are thinking, because when the hostess is the best part of this dining experience, something is terribly wrong. Please decide for yourself, but expect to be underwhelmed by the quality and quantity of service and food, and an unappealing atmosphere. Definitely will not be eating there again:(
Where do we start?Sat in our booth well over 10min before our server ever acknowledged us. Not a single hello, never got a name, nothing we got "are you ready to order?" Hostess got my daughter and I a drink, then my husband was left a solid 20min total without one. Had 2 tables arriving after us, receive basically our same food items well before us. Finally got my sandwich and the fries were ICE cold, and the bottom of the bread was so hard it was inedible. Hardest working person in the entire place was the tall gentleman, assuming he was a manager, who was trying to check, clean, seat and prep tables for everyone else. Definitely disappointed entirely!
Great! First of all, our waiter was excellent. He was very courteous and fast. Also, the hostess was welcoming and polite. I enjoyed my food. I had the lamb salad with house vinaigrette. The lamb was tender, the greens were very fresh and well balanced- the house vinaigrette was a deliciously tangy with a slight sweetness. My husband had the Italian platter, and I tried all the things and they were good too! This is a family friendly place, lots of kids around. Oh! Also, the prices were great.
Everyone was very very nice our waitress was extremely attentive to our needs. The food was very good. Even a young gentleman kept coming over to us and asking if everything was okay. Then gave us a goodbye greeting and a welcome back. It was very very pleasant!
Had a great luncheon with the boss and co-workers after a painting class. GF veggie pizza was fabulous, garlic sauce amazing and service was great. A much recommended place to eat, ranks in the top 10 for GF pizza. A place to re-do.
Service was poor. The waitress had a nasty attitude and food was cold being left to sit while she talked on the phone instead. Not sure if she didn't think we pay attention or if she waals maybe having a bad day or something. It was years since i been to Sonis, maybe something changed with the rebuild. I think I'll pass moving forward
