My family stopped by on Saturday afternoon ordered a Pgh pizza and loaded fries. The Pizza was out of this world. The fries were fresh cut and delicious. Our server was Jodie and she was so friendly and efficient we never had to ask a refill on drinks. Most pleasant trip there ever.
Gave a two star and that's being nice. Our server was really nice and good. The food on the other hand was terrible. We got my daughter a pizza and it tasted like chlorine and very greasy. I got a chicken wrap with fries. The fries were not hot the wrap didn't make sense not sure what it wanted to be. Also it wasnt hot. My husband got the whole Philly steak and cheese. It had no flavor and not enought cheese. Everything was over priced for what we got. Don't get me wrong if it was good we would pay whatever. Everything seemed like it was rushed and wasn't made with love or passion. Now for the menus, they were ripped and very crusty. The draft menu had stains all over it. My husband's beer was not cold.
I’ve frequented this place since we first found it, mostly for dinner but occasionally for breakfast. Everything we ordered has been great, and service has been good. We’ve had burgers, pizza, chicken or steak salads, and Philly cheesesteak hoagies. The menu is big enough to appeal to the teens and adults. The price is a good value for what is served. As a sports bar atmosphere, there are numerous big screens all around, but not so loud that you couldn’t have a conversation. Very comfortable and satisfying. Going again soon.
Got a cheese steak hoagie... which had no seasoning. I have ordered other items such as burgers but decided to try something new. I would recommend their burgers. However the hoagie has no taste.. just wasted calories. The waitress did not pay us any attention, we had to keep getting her. This was not a busy night.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would! I brought my family (10 of us in total, in town for a graduation) to Gateway for dinner on a weeknight. The restaurant was not busy by any means. When we walked in, 3 servers looked at us (two standing at the bar chatting and one who did appear to be working), it took about 10 minutes before any one of them even acknowledged we were standing there. When one of them finally came over it was only to ask how many of us there were and to say they would get a table set. 15 minutes after that, this server comes back over not to seat us but to state "any parties of more than 7 people, we won't split the check". After waiting for almost 30 minutes to be seated on a Tuesday night with 11 diners in the restaurant at most and be told that, we immediately turned and walked out. There was no intent on splitting anything and for your server to assume that, well that was asinine. I was livid, if serving our group was an issue, it should have been stated the moment we entered. Rude and ignorant are about the nicest things I can say about the server and this establishment. Last time I checked, money is GREEN and it all spends the same, no matter WHO it comes from.
Absolutely not. Atmosphere was rough. Service was bad. Food has taken a downhill turn from the last time I was here a few years back. The pizza is still good however. Everything else wasn’t worth the price.
Food was delicious. Server took our order quickly. Didn't take long to receive our meals. Whole family enjoyed. Will def return even we visit Monroeville again.
I have to give this place 5 stars. Recommended by a local for the food and especially the beer. We had to grab a late night dinner and arrived around 9:00 on a Wednesday. The atmosphere is one of a friendly local diner. They are welcoming and know their regulars. Our waitress was super friendly, seated us immediately and discussed the menu with us. I got a Western Burger (cheddar cheese, bacon, mushrooms, and barbecue sauce) and my companions had a small meatball & roasted red pepper calzone and a Spinach & mushroom calzone. My burger was delicious and the meatball calzone was one of the all-time best! We had a look at one of their pizzas too. Wood oven baked and huge! The draft list is extensive as is the list of bottled beer. Both exotic imports and craft beers are available. This is a great place to get beer to go too.
I'm sorry to my fantastic server for giving one star - she was great, but the food was TERRIBLE. The pizza worst of all! No flavor, except grease. Chicken breast was dry, salad was slimy, and the "Pittsburgh best" ribs were awful. Overcooked, sauce was NOT good, in my opinion, very bland. Someone said breakfast at this place is better but I seriously doubt it, won't be back to find out.
We have tried numerous different types of pizza here and haven't had a bad one yet. I believe that most all of their food satisfies.
