You may think this stupid, but I always liked IHB because they carried PEPSI products. I am not a drinker so my beverage of choice is PEPSI. I VERY FREQUENT establishments that carry what I drink. Unfortunately coke products give me migraines. Last night was my last night patronizing IHB, had I not been in the company of others, I would have to went elsewhere's.
Quality and service was poorer than last time we visited before the pandemic. Hard to see going back there again.
The nachos didnât have guacamole or jalapeí±os.
The Shrimp & Grits and Sockeye Salmon specials were excellent. The pie crust on the key lime pie was very thick and hard to break,
Servers were doing their best with the volume of guests and were incredibly professional, courteous, and apologetic. I assume they are generally understaffed and specifically in the bar (high-tops) area. We shared the nachos, which were good, but not quite the same level of quality that they used to be. Iron Hill's nachos used to be the best around, in our opinion, but now they are still good - but we miss when they were great. We also shared a chicken sandwich and we are always pleased that they bring the food out to you pre-split. The sandwich and fries were very good. The server(s) were all kind and doing the best that they could given the circumstances and volume of customers. Great live music on this first Thursday. Still loyal to IHB.
I'm a new Iron Hill Member. Well, the server was fantastic, the best! But.... First, I was told that the sign up fee of $20 would be credited on our next (2nd) visit. It was not. Second, 2 Pinot Grigio 9oz wines - $15 each, and they were certainly NOT 9oz pours. Beer is on the higher cost side, though not for the member 22oz mug. Entrees were ok, but with no included salad or breads, like most places. The menu is pretty sparse for a restaurant in Media. Third, a live band with drums started up at around 6:30, dinner time, which we weren't expecting & could barely hear each other talk, and we were seated in the dining area, not the bar area, where they were playing. They were good, but too early & too loud. Not at that time, on a Thurs. evening. Spoiled the quieter atmosphere. And for all of this, a $100 tab plus tip. 2 entrees, 2 wines, 2 beers. Not my favorite restaurant now.
Awesome food and exceptional service!
no beer list provided with the menus. service was a little slow (to order, to come around for refills, to deliver food, to bring the check). table was set with an extra chair (crowded) which we moved ourselves. some kind of mixup in table numbers because runners kept bringing food to our table that was meant for the table behind us. server was very nice, place wasn't loud or overcrowded, food was good and well-priced.
What a huge disappointment! I am visiting family and couldn’t wait to get their food along with sharing the experience with friends and family. I’m embarrassed because I recommended this place, spend a lot of money, nothing was tasty, and the manager was a waste of my time. I placed a pick up takeout order that totaled to $93 for three people. 2 appetizers. 2 salad entrees. 1 burger. 1 sandwich. I get it - it’s Media and inflation. BUT this experience was much more than that. $11.50 for the 9 sweet potato fries that do not match the description? $14.75 for 2 Buffalo chicken egg rolls? classic Caesar salad? I’ve never ordered this from anywhere and received romaine and croutons. Especially for the $. Dressing on the side? And it wasn’t creamy or tasty. The OMG BLT for $14.95 should be named WTF MINI BLT. Nothing on it! I will never again give this place another chance.
Despite it being a dine under the stars night the wait inside was non-existent which was a nice surprise. Food was tasty and waitress seemed nice. My issue is with portion sizes. The food prices at least from what I remember have gone up more than a few dollars for an appetizer with the same portion size which is alot when you figure 2 egg rolls are going to be 14.00. other than that it's as good as it's always been.
