Well, based on the reviews we couldn't wait to try the food and eat. After our experience, we're one and done. The food portions are small... Meat is not cooked as stated... Grilled meant marinated and who wants thinly sliced... (Dental floss size beef) for fajitas... Not me. And I thought that fajitas come on a hot sizzling cast iron skillet... Not here. The quesadillas were burnt yet soggy. The food was okay at best... Not the worst but not a do over for sure.

Please note that this place does not have a liquor license! I got the strawberry margarita. It was great!! We ordered the seafood ceviche, also great! I ordered the enchilada mole, excellent! The mole had chocolate, cayenne, & cinnamon in it. It was very good!! My fiance got the steak fajitas for the 2nd time, his fav! We will be back!!

Owner was incredibly rude. Waitstaff was shocked & annoyed when we asked for forks. We ordered 3 appetizers for 2 people. It is a BYOB and she brought glasses for the 2 total beers we brought. As we ate, out of nowhere she said we needed to order entrees because we each drank a beer and she “needed to make money”. Proceeded to go on about “having to order both an entree and appetizers,” which we had no idea “was their policy.” As it was our first time there, we simply didn’t know this as I explained to her as she grew more and more angry. She was beyond rude and yelled at us. The food was mediocre at best. I’m not sure if any of the positive reviewers have eaten much Mexican food, but this was sub-par, by far.We went in to simply enjoy a quick bite and drink, and was bowled over by the rudeness, Which left a worse taste in my mouth than the burnt, bland food.I have never written a Yelp review, as I respect that restaurants and their employees work very hard and are trying to stay in business. This is NOT how you do it.We will never go again & do not recommend this place.

Small and friendly family run with a wonderful chef in the kitchen. Not everything is hot ( I don't eat anything with hot peppers). Great blend of flavors. Both traditional and more modern dishes. We will be going there a lot.

Hidalgo has addicting food. Their chicken Mole Poblano meal is amazing, and the Tres Leche cake is the best I’ve ever had (the strawberries are a nice touch!) The service was quick and the hostess made this place feel like home. Will definitely be returning; give this place a try!

Incredible atmosphere. Pure authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine. If you are lucky enough to get the pork tenderloin and chorizo special, you will absolutely not be disappointed. It is absolute perfection and will make you reevaluate everything you will ever eat.

Great food with a home cooked quality. Excellent guacamole and chips. The matron is very friendly and hoot to converse with. She is also a talented singer and twice during the meal she burst into song for unexpected entertainment. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the venue and will be back again.

My husband and I love coming here. The owner is sooo friendly and makes the best margarita I’ve ever had, hands down. The food is wonderful too and we always have such an awesome time here ?

The best food! The family who owns are always grateful for any business. Been coming here for a couple years and it’s definitely a homey place with authentic food.

Food is always fresh and wonderful! Owner serenading the diners is outstanding!
