Stopped at Golden dawn for breakfast when we visited Sesame place in Philly. Their customer service is incredible! Loved the ambience and food. Everything was on point, oh and prices are very reasonable for the size of portions!
Went there for dinner on a Friday and the place was packed so I thought that was a good sign, it was not. I ordered Eggs Benedict and the eggs were very runny and the toast was burnt. My friend ordered hamburger sliders and the meat was not cooked long enough. My other friend ordered Chicken Parm and he did not care for the sauce. I think because of how busy it was the Chef just wanted to get the plates out without properly cooking it. I am not excited about going back, so I won’t.
Our service and server was excellent... Our steaks cooked to perfection no A1 sauce needed or ketchup...lol and they made the kids a priority. We had just left the circus and the 4 of us was starving. We was the last customers of the night and one of us ordered a well done steak.... You would have never known we was the last because we was treated like gold. They even offered to stop cleaning around us if it was a problem.... Having been in the restaurant and bar business most of my life... I know how it feels to have a family come in super close to closing and needing to stop all closing clean up and side work.... The team working that night was true professionals the owners and management should be proud. We definitely have every intention on returning this time not at the end of the night... Os they did stay open late for us not by much but still enough to make my family night amazing....

Word of advice: come hungry! Their 13 page menu has hundreds of different dishes & items to choose from, so if you’re craving it, they’ve likely got it! To start, I ordered the New England clam chowder and Greek salad… the clam chowder hit the absolute spot and the salad was HUGE. For the main course I got the very fried chicken croquette served over mashed potatoes and topped with gravy, which was comfort food at its finest, as well as a side of crispy sweet potato fries. For dessert I got the bread pudding to finish it all off on a sweet note. It is an incredible value and overall just a really great experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very warming and energetic. We all went home full & happy. I will definitely return to the Golden Dawn, especially so I can try their breakfast next! (And their rest of their cakes!)
Everything my fiance and I ordered tasted horrible. We had to send food back. It came back out even worse.. The manager acted like she didn't believe us and still charged us half of the bill when we didn't even eat anything. We were looked at like we were bums or something. Never eat at this diner again.. Eggs were runny when I asked for them to be cooked a little longer. Her fish had way to much lemon. My cream chipped beef tasted like sour cream. We ended up going back to kill some time and this go around was WAYYY better. We only ordered a cream chip beef breakfast special with some extra eggs but it was delicious. So I upped our rating to 4 stars.
